The shoes fit in length is spot on.. But the shoe width is way to wide.. that along with the offset laces means you can not tighten the shoe to ensure a proper fit.. Also when you tighten the laces it deforms the front of the shoe concaving it into your toes.. huge disappointment from 5.10 i geuss unless you have wide feet..
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn’t sure about BOA but I gave it a try. And I love it. BOA makes it so much easier to put on/off shoes. Plus find adjustments. Now I want all my shoes to have BOA. Shoes are hard but I guess you want them hard for bike paddles. May not be for long distance walking but good enough for short distances. They are good looking shoes for on and off bike. Get the BOA version, it’s worth it.
Much narrower, and a bit shorter (normally size 10, id likely go 11). These do not fit or feel the same as the lace version! I have had several of these in the standard lace, but the boa fit is very different. Also, on the top of the inside right toe box, the glue was not fully engaged, so I had to press it back together. Not sure if this fixed it, because I am sending them back anyways.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been riding with 5 10 shoes for years. Going back before Adidas owned them and have always loved the freerider pro. The addition of the boa system is amazing. I like my laces tight when I'm riding and usually would have to retire them multiple time per ride. With the boa I can adjust them while riding a connector trail
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never thought wearing bicycle shoes would make a difference vs regular old sneakers. Boy was I wrong. These shoes are so awesome. No more numbness in the feet after a long ride. No more shoes sliding off the pedals. These shoes stick to the pedals like glue. Can’t say enough good things about them. Love the look too!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had freerider then trail cross ones and these boa are my favorite. The sole isn’t as stiff if you like a stiff sole. These flex close to a real shoe. Very comfortable and super easy on/off. Also least amount of debris in my shoes after a ride. Used for mtb woods north east single track.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you ride flat pedals, these shoes work very well. The soles are stiffer than a standard shoe which helps with foot fatigue. I don't plan on running in them. They grip my pinned pedals really well and foot placement is great thanks to the flat tread with little circles. The standout feature in my opinion is the BOA. I can get in and out of these shoes in seconds. The BOA is surprisingly quick to get the right fit. So far the tongue has not bunched-up or caused any issues. A simple pull of the knob releases the tension. As for sizing, I think they are close to standard. I have wide feet and I was concerned that they'd be narrow. I went up a half size and they fit great for cycling. I've yet to ride in very hot weather, so I can't say how well these breathe. I assume they will on the warm side with the smooth material. The shoes are relatively light weight and I appreciate that the toe box offers a little protection. Time will tell how long they last with my aggressive metal pedal pins digging-in.
NOT TRUE TO SIZE - these are much larger than previous free rider pro models. I would size down by one entire shoe size. I even put size 10 next to my old pair and you could tell just looking at them they were not the same size at all.
Once these shoes get wet, weather sweat or water, they do not dry out. And sadly that means they start to smell extremely bad. I really liked the shoes in cooler weather, but hot summer riding on a regular basis has made them nasty.
Great shoe, super light and comfortable. Easy on and off with micro adjustments, from the BOA system, and they stay glued to my pedals. I have had the regular pros and I like this shoe the best for me.
