Tent ripped at zipper immediately. And the the four post system doesn't stake well to dunelands. Mainly the zipper failed causing my trip to fall short
Recently picked this tent up on REI's labor day sale and overall, we really enjoyed it! The tent has a TON of room inside, fit my fiance, myself, and our dog very comfortably. We had plenty of room to move, store any gear we'd like to keep dry, and most importantly fit our massive Exped Duo LW with room to spare. The head room was also very forgiving, at 6' tall, I had no issues sitting upright or crawling around. Finally, the walls being near vertical made the tent feel so spacious, and helped minimize us touching the walls and letting dew in. Setup was very straight forward, just match the pole colors to the same color on the tent itself. Took us all of about 10 minutes the first time, and that was taking our time and making sure we got it right. Also, the taco style stuff sack is awesome, so easy to deal with. The rain fly was also straightforward, though I don't like the attachment system as much as my old Big Agnus. It uses loops around the stakes instead of clips. I prefer the clip method, but the loops work fine, its mostly a personal preference. I suppose this also cuts down on the weight a bit. We haven't encountered rain yet, but the tent did fine at keeping out the dew. We were nice and dry in the morning. My biggest gripe with the tent, and reason for 4/5 stars, is the weight is over the advertised weight. It is advertised as having a packaged weight of 5 pounds 5 oz, yet on my scale it comes out to 5 pounds 12oz. It isn't a deal breaker, but is a bit annoying considering I bought it expecting the lighter weight. I acknowledge my scale could be off, and if I discover it is I will update the review. Overall, I really like this tent, and I think the pros far outweigh the cons I found. I see myself using this tent for the foreseeable future and am happy with my purchase.
