I got the ADV Skin 12 about a month before I absolutely knew I wanted to use it so I started to wear it to my run club 5k meet ups and it was absolutely fantastic! Fast forward to using it in my first half marathon; it literally fit my jacket and pants from my commute to the race, a croissant, gels/chews, gloves, a beanie, and more! I’ll love this pack forever :) no complaints
I already loved the women’s adv skin 12 but couldn’t find replacement bottles to fit so I upgraded to the new women’s cut adv skin 12 and it did not disappoint. I only got the chance to wear it once before my ultra and it did amazing. It has all the pockets. They updated the closure in the front and the fit and I couldn’t be happier with both updates and it seems to hold my poles better without a quiver at the bottom with the straps. The only sad part for me was the took the extra storage out at the top of the vest on the back. My green adv skin 12 had a pocket of sorts at the top I could store my hat, jacket, gloves, etc in and still reach without removing the pack. And the took away the ‘trash pouch’ I used to store my keys in. Overall, with the money and you’ll be happy with it.
I enjoy this pack a lot. I just went on a long hike and it had enough pockets for all my snacks, phone, jacket, keys, etc. The only thing that could be better is to make the back more breathable because I was sweating a lot. And to compare to my boyfriend’s pack, he has a whistle on his and I couldn’t find one on mine. We also did some running in the pack and it held well and didn’t really move around a lot. Very comfortable.
I had a previous women's ADV Skin 12. Knowing that my bottles needed replacing and they are impossible to purchase, I opted to upgrade to a vest with more generic bottles. The sizing isn't perfect for me. The medium is definitely too big, and the small could have a bit more room across the shoulders, but it hasn't caused me any issues and I think it will stretch over time. I miss the pocket at the top of the vest, but I am adapting to having a larger, more easy to access pocket along the bottom of the vest. The bottles pop out of the front pockets - seems like they should be a little deeper - so I do have to use the little bottle holding loops which I don't love. The cinch straps are much better than previous versions, and the zip pockets remain awesome. I love how much I can stuff into the vest and used the previous 12 L version on 50 mile runs, long mountain adventures, and everything in between.
Hey, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We often adjust our products based on direct customer feedback. We will make sure to pass this along to our designers for consideration in future products.
I had the ADV SKIN 5 before this and was happy with it, the zipper on one of the pouches broke and I decided to go with the ADV SKIN 12 as a replacement. The difference between a unisex fit and one fit for women is huge and I didn't realize how much a difference this would make. This also has so many pockets and the back pouch is huge, it easily stored my windbreaker until I needed it on my long run. I took it out for a 25km test run and was really happy with the fit and how easily I was able to access the pockets, I could store everything I needed easily and then could access them on my run without issue. I was also really impressed with the overall warranty on their product that Salomon provided, they made it really easy for my to replace my last vest when it broke and I would recommend them as a company to others. From my experience the products are great, but they also stand behind them which is great to see as well.
Super comfortable vest, it doesn't bounce at all. Lots of pockets with zippers. My only complaint is how to manage the straw from the bladder. I still haven't figure out how to comfortably install it. Seems like it is always in the way and it is shafing my neck.
Great vest very comfortable and does not bounce or shift while running
