I wore these daily to work, walks, and runs on pavement. I received several compliments on the style, I think the green accent works well with the white. I found it to have medium to high level of cushion, and the rubber was grippy on hilly wet pavement. The shoes ride nicely neutral, I did not notice either under or over-pronation. I found the heel to be a nice snug fit but not overly aggressive on the achilles tendon which I appreciate having had an issue with another shoe brand cutting into my achilles previously. The tongue is attached with elastic which hugs the midfoot and the arch is mostly flat (just a slight arch support in the insole). The width felt medium - my foot is about a 9.5 wide (2E) but I got a size 10 and it fits. The upper is breathable. The last lace has 3 different holes so they're pretty adjustable. All in all a comfortable road running shoe and I look forward to getting many more miles out of them!
This is my only experience with "Maximum Cushion" running shoes. First impression: feels like walking on a trampoline. The springy effect comes from the PWR RUN foam and the (removable) insoles (see photo). Given the size of the shoe, it was lighter than expected. There is a roomy toe box, an upper that conforms to the foot perfectly after lacing and the tongue is sewed into the bottom sides of the shoe which really helps keep it in place (see photo). There are plenty of eyelets at the top of the shoe to allow different lacing options to lock in the heal. Both the to gue and heal are well padded. People with bottom of foot issues (like neuromas and metatarsalgia) may not like the out of the box feel of the shoe as the spring foam seems to apply pressure to these areas rather than mold around the issue. That said, the insoles are easily removed and your prescription orthotics (or any over the counter insoles/orthotics) will fit easily and without issue. I did receive two unsolicited compliments on my white/olivina version of the shoe. Overall, these shoes are highly recommended for those who like or want to try Max Cushioning shoes (for running, walking and errands) and for those who replace the insoles with custom insoles or prescription orthotics.
I have never tried a "max cushion" shoe before. My first impression with a few steps in the new shoes....It felt like walking on a trampoline! Apparently the springiness is mostly related to the PWR RUN foam as well as the design of the removable insoles. Despite this not being a minimalist shoe, it was surprisingly light. I appreciated the roomy toe box and an upper that is soft, flexible and somehow also supportive. The padded tongue is sewed to the bottom of the shoe on both sides (gusseted). This completely prevents the tongue from sliding around when running. The heal is nicely padded. Numerous islet holes at the top allow for different lacing options to lock in the heal. A word of caution to those who may have issues on the bottom of your feet (neuroma, metatarsalgia, etc). The cushion material doesn't mold to your feet. Instead, it springs back and may put pressure on existing trouble spots. That said, the shoe easily acceps your custom or prescription insole (or any over the counter insole) by simply removing the insole that comes with the shoe and replacing it with your insole. I see this as a great running traing shoe, a great shoe for vacations that require a lot of walking or for those who just walk a lot. I highly recommend this shoe for anyone who appreciates maximum cushion.
I bought these shoes about 2.5 months ago. Love the comfort and feel of the shoe. However, after only 130 miles of running on streets and sidewalks, the shoe is showing what I consider to be significant wear on the sole. I switched from Asics Cumulus which didn't start to show this type of wear until about 250 miles. First time using Saucony; is this normal wear? If so that is disappointing because I really like the comfort and feel.

These shoes save your knees big time. As a 32-year-old who runs regularly, works out, and needs good support for my knees, the Saucony Ride 18 Shoes have been a great choice. I used these for running and working out everyday now. From the moment I put them on, they felt lightweight yet well-cushioned, providing the right balance between comfort and responsiveness. The PWRRUN cushioning does a great job of absorbing impact, which is very important for reducing stress on my knees, especially during longer runs or high-impact workouts. The fit is secure but not too tight, allowing for natural foot movement without sacrificing stability. The breathable upper keeps my feet cool. Whether I’m logging miles on the road, hitting the gym, or doing cross-training, these shoes provide the support and shock absorption I need. I highly recommend the Ride 18! I love this white shoes. I am also trying to keep them clean (since they are white) but that is a lost battle hahaha
The Ride 18 is a solid daily trainer for racking up the miles. It doesn't feel overly-responsive or super foamy, but not a huge squishy stack either. It's a nice middle ground. Outsole grip is fantastic and is showing minimal wear after ~150 miles. As mentioned, mid sole ride isn't anything too crazy but is good for every day paces. I don't reach for this shoe on workout day but it's used for pretty much everything else. Upper is extremely comfortable and breathable, but definitely on the ticker side. I think the Green / white colorway looks fantastic. Why not 5 stars? In the modern running shoe error there are so many exceptional shoes and this one is just very good.
Saucony Ride 18 After trying out the new Saucony Ride 18 size 9 white and olivene colored running shoes, in my opinion, the fit is just about right, the shoes are pretty close to a true size for me. Compared to other Saucony shoes used, these are slightly narrower. If you have a wider foot you might want to get the wide version of Ride 18. Having used them for some running, walking and hiking they are well cushioned, firm and the soles have a good grip. I love the looks of my pair as the aesthetics are very clean. The new Ride 18 is actually somewhat lighter than the previous version too. These shoes remind me of being somewhat vintage or old school in the way they perform. This is not a bad thing as it makes them a do-it-all type of running shoe. It makes for a solid daily trainer with a comfortable fit. I would recommend the Ride 18 for anyone looking for a great all-round running shoe that can also do well as a walking or hiking shoe too. The price is competitive with its competition.
This is a decent runner, providing a stiff and lightweight ride. Excellent ventilation to keep your feet cool/dry. There's been a lot of snow lately so I haven't had a chance to really put the paces in outside or at the track. Putting miles on the treadmill with these shoes. I recommend sizing up, perhaps half a size as these feel pretty narrow, but have a passable amount of room in the toe box. I have wide flat feet, and they are honestly uncomfortable. The shoes are probably better if you have narrow feet with high arches. They have a lot of stability, but deceivingly not as much cushion as it appears to have. It doesn't feel like a squishy or bouncy shoe. Pretty mid.
Nice cushy shoe. Sized correctly for me and fits great. Lots of toe box room. Suprisgly light for all the cush. Great for road runs and walks. Sturdy enough for the gym. Not so much for trails but it's not meant to be a hard core trail shoe.
The Ride 18 is seriously fantastic. I was a huuge fan of the Ride 17 and this update is just spectacular. The upper on the 18 is one of the best uppers I've ever ran in and the midsole is super fun to run in. The shoe is so comfortable and also super responsive! It reminds me of the Triumph 21, which is one of my favorite shoes of all time. Seriously blown away by this shoe. The best daily trainer out there.
