prAna  Stretch Zion Standard Pants - Men's

These pants have quickly become my go-to for workdays when I need something business casual enough for meetings but also rugged enough for field work. The somewhat loose silhouette makes them incredibly comfortable. The stretch fabric moves effortlessly, yet still has some weight to it. Unlike some other brands where the material quickly snags and tears. Articulated knees make a noticeable difference when you're active or on the move. I love quick-drying element. Perfect for light rain or sweating it out on the trail, these pants dry fast and stay breathable. These pants look great in a variety of settings. The snaps located on the legs of the pants come in handy for the beach or low river crossings. The fabric resists abrasion and doesn’t pill or fade easily. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a technical pant that doesn't look overly "technical." I’ll definitely be buying another pair. Quick note: I usually wear a size 32 but ordered a 30 and they were still a little long.

I love these pants. I work outdoors pushing through brush, thorns, rocks, rebar and concrete all day long. THESE PANTS ARE TOUGH. I’ve worn the same pair of pants every workday (and some weekends) for a year straight. I haven’t gotten a tear bigger than a penny yet. They have spent weeks covered in gasoline, oil, grease, and herbicides without a difference. Pop these in the wash for one cycle and you’re back to new. These pants keep you warm in temps down to about 40 without a base layer. Somehow they managed to make them light enough that I don’t even notice them in 100 degree heat. Bottom line, these pants are more reliable than I am. They’re ready to work 100 percent of the time.

I really needed a new pair of outdoor pants that were cooler for summer than my go-to all-season pants (review guidelines say not to mention other brands). The prAna Stretch Zions were super comfortable, with good pockets, but I was concerned about the durability of the material. They almost feel like yoga pants or something. I'm outside almost every day, and not always on a trail. I should have trusted those instincts. Sure enough, the very first day I wore these out, we walked through a knee-length grassy field and grass seeds just tore these pants up. I don't mean blackberry thorns or tough, nasty burrs - I mean garden variety grass seeds that like to tag along on clothing. Vegetation that would just bounce off any other outdoor pants I own (or jeans) dug right into these pants and pulled long threads of fabric out. These things are for the fashion-conscious glamper who doesn't actually get dirty.

I'm a 36 waist in Dockers, and the Zion Standard pants in 36 wouldn't even close.

These are not the original Zion, but the newer Zion. The fabric is not the same, and they lack the snaps to roll up the legs. People do not like the newer fabric as much.

Light weight yet durable, comfortable stretch fit so moves freely with hiking up mountains, excellent deep pockets & one side pocket with zipper, my first pair but am planning on getting more.

Excellent fit off the rack for someone with larger thighs and wanting a more athletic fit. Really well tapered while still feeling like hiking pants. Very soft and hold up well with great features. Tried on several pants from other brands at REI and went with these easily.

As many others have noted, these pants are not the same as their predecessors. These are made with a different material and the sizing is smaller than they used to be. Taking those things into consideration, the style and options are not much different. They have the same pockets and airflows they used to have. People have commented that the air holes may let in ticks, but a day or so before I go out I spray my clothes down with Permethrin so they’ll repel/ kill and ticks and bugs it’ll come in contact with. I’ve been doing this for years with my old pair of PrAna’s and they’ve held up greatly and I’ve never had a tick bite, despite walking through some high weeded areas. Overall these pants are still good, but if you don’t like the feel of the material and can’t get past the sizing you may want to go check out another pant. That’s the only reason I lowered the rating.

Best hiking pants I've owned. I wore these on a 14-mile hike the other day, on a humid 93-degree day. Are there lighter-weight and more breathable pants out there? Probably. Was that an issue? Not even a little bit. The fit with the stretch fabric, was really comfortable and felt roomy, and somehow, despite forgetting my Body Glide, there was no chafing at all. Anywhere. I also had to scramble up a couple rocky areas at some points, and the pants had plenty of stretch for those climbs, with ample room in the crotch. Pockets were good and roomy, but well-contained--I didn't feel the stuff in my pockets constantly bouncing against me. There's nothing to hold the legs up if you roll them, but they rolled easily enough and just...stayed there. I'll be picking up another pair of these in a different color next time I'm at REI.

These are very comfortable. Not wind resistant but do cut down on wind. Fell in a stream a few days ago and one pant leg was soaked through. Mostly dry within 45 minutes (temp about 35) - it was on my way back to the car so not an issue. There is a zippered pocket lower down on left leg (stow my car key there), front and rear pockets. My iPhone 17 Pro Max fits in the front without falling out. Have never used the other pockets. The 'belt' is integrated and works well, easily adjusted on the go.
