[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro v9 is impressively comfortable with plush cushioning that absorbs impact well. Its traction is exceptional, handling rocky trails and snow with ease. Surprisingly versatile, it feels stable yet soft underfoot, making it a solid choice for technical terrain while maintaining all-day comfort.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hierro is great! Lots of cushioning and solid, firm traction. I was able to run easily on all kinds of terrain, technical trails with rocks and roots, and even on pavement. It's perfect for a hike or long run in the woods. I recently wore these to take photos at a race in rainy conditions. They kept me warm and comfy. The shoes also look amazing! The light blue color is nice and pairs well with jeans or running tights. I get lots of compliments and recommend these kicks highly!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These new Hierro v9 are surprisingly cushiony and comfortable. The cushioning are similar to the 1080s road shoes. Although this is not typical of trail shoes, it’s a pleasant deviation from norm. The grip patterns on the soles are responsive and highly functional on dirt paths.
Arrived today and went for an eight mile trail run … my toes are on fire 🔥 … the hard toe case on the shoe feels like plastic and is very painful. Cushioning and fit was good but I can’t run in these again …

Please contact our customer service team so we can better understand your experience and help you find a model that suits your needs more comfortably.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Modern and lightweight shoe, but stable and very comfortable, with a good presentation image, very aesthetic, it feels safe to run with it due to its good plantar sole.
These shoes contain my hiking experience. i <3 nb.
Good trail run shoes for more or less flat gravel trails that are not too technical. I worn them while running in the Franklin Mountains in El Paso. They have amazing grip and are comfortable and very cushioned. The only reason I am giving them four stars is because I feel they have too much cushion and it sometimes made trip while negotiating the mountain ridgeline. I felt a big separation between my foot and the ground which made lose a sense where my feet were standing. The grip was amazing while climing up and down, nevertheless.
I purchased Trail Running shoe for durability and longer lasting. This shoe is comfortable for road running and breathable. I tested walking in the house 5-8 hours before the road test. My feet did not sweat. My only issue is the shoe laces are 5 inches too long (54 inches instead of 48-49). I tripled tie my shoe laces and still too long. This make it difficult to take untie my shoes outside after my morning run. I ended up buy new shoe laces from another seller I match shoe laces lengthy with my 880v14 shoes, which are perfect.
I’ve put probably 50+ miles on these over the past month, they most recent being a 2-night trip under pack weight, and these are by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn on the trail. My foot feels totally locked into the shoe, my ankle feels incredibly stable, the cushion is great, the vibram sole is incredibly grippy, and the whole shoe still looks brand new! I know New Balance isn’t usually top-of-mind in the trail runner discussion but if you are thinking about new shoes do yourself a favor and give these a try!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tested this out during an Asian Trail Mix event in NYC. We ran 5 miles around Central park in the cold with a mix of road pavement, dirt, ice, snow and wet mud. My feet stayed dry and warm during the run and my feet felt great afterwards when I was casually walking around the city. There was no slipping when running on the ice/snow surface so it has good grip. The colorway I got was also nice. It is a very comfortable shoe but runs a bit tight in the toebox so you might have to size up.
