Covers a picnic table, small and light
This tarp is the right size to cover a typical park picnic table, and would probably succeed at keeping up to eight people dry and out of the rain. It can be quick to set-up once you get the hang of it, and it packs small and light. The stuff sack supplied is far too small to re-stuff the tarp unless you become an expert at folding and rolling it. This tarp attempts to copy the brilliantly-designed Parawing shelter designed by Bill Moss in the early 1970s. While it appears to embody the same diamond-shaped tarp concept, it falls short of the original 12' Parawing. It doesn't share the carefully-crafted catenary cut of the Moss design that would give it a sturdy, wind resistant, wing-shaped, rain-shedding pitch. I have experience with the original Parawing--this tarp by comparison cannot be pitched to minimize flapping in the wind or sagging in the rain.
