I really liked these hiking shoes. The fit well, were comfortable and supported my feet. But, after hiking less than 100 miles, over about 15 day hikes, they started to come apart. I have a pair of Saloman GTX Vaya hiking shoes with 700 miles on them and there are no signs of the shoes coming apart. I'm very disappointed in the North Face shoes and plan to return them for a refund.
My order from REI for these shoes was actually cancelled from the store, which means that I had to order from The North Face directly. I was pretty frustrated that REI decided to cancel my order a few after it was placed. But they arrived from the North Face and unfortunately will need to return them. Overall I really like the look of the shoe but the fit didn’t work for me. My heels slipped out from the back with every step. I tried different socks, different ways of tightening the shoes, nothing worked. The length of the shoe was fine while standing still.
