I LOVE THIS!
I’m usually not a fan of rain pants and hesitate to spend much on something I might not wear often. But these pants really impressed me. They were extremely easy to pull on over heavy hiking boots while on the trail, and I never felt that unpleasant “steamy” feeling inside thanks to the breathable material. The fit is slightly oversized, which makes sense since you wear them over hiking pants, and the waistband design kept them securely in place without even needing to tighten the drawstring. At first, the material felt stiff when I tried them on at home, but once I was out on the trail, that stiffness disappeared — they felt natural and comfortable. I wore these as my top layer while summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro (over wool leggings, fleece leggings, and hiking pants), and they performed perfectly. They also fold completely flat and are very lightweight, which is a huge plus since I’m mindful of pack weight and energy use (I’m 58 and always thinking about conserving strength on the trail!). This has become a standard item in my pack, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for reliable, functional, and comfortable rain protection.
Rain pants for girlies who hate rain pants.
I hate rain pants. Like a lot. I live and work in a temperate rainforest so much to my dismay, I really should wear them. I like these rain pants. 1. They are durable without feeling like I’m wearing a shower curtain. 2. They come in a color besides black. 3. I love that they don’t zip all the way up to the top as past rain pants rarely stayed zipped when moving from sitting to standing. 4. Pockets. 5. Waterproof. Tested backpacking in 8 hours of thunderstorms in a boggy area.
Great fit ~ waterproof ~ size down
I LOVE these pants!! After trying several sizes, I opted for the smallest because of the flexible, no zipper waist...really comfortable with no formal waistband/zip. Looking forward to wearing these babies biking to work on rainy days AND hiking in Iceland in the fall. I don't care if they make a noise when I walk if they keep me dry :)
Not for me...
Not for me - the sizing was way off for my proportions. Typically, size 10/12 (31 waist) and larger thighs. Arc'teyrx pants with a built in belt feature usually work great! Fit okay in the thighs, but the waist was insanely off. Also not a fan of the drawstring waistband. Unfortunately has to return.
Hi there. Thanks for sharing your feedback on the Beta Pant. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the fit and the waist drawstring. We appreciate your comments and we will make sure to pass them to our team.
Durable!
I wish it was like the former beta pants where the zippers went all the way up the legs. I love that they’re super durable. I wasn’t so sure about the pocket, but I actually like that my phone lies on the front side of my thigh.
Noisy material
I love my beta gore-tex jacket and wanted to get some gore-tex waterproof pants to use for hiking. I returned these pants because they make so much noise walking in them
Hi there. Thanks for sharing your feedback on the Beta Pant. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the fabric being noisy. While this is common on GORE-TEX pants, we understand how this can be an inconvenience. We appreciate your comments and we will make sure to pass them to our team.
Awful material and strange fit
These are awful. They sound like a crisp packet and don't undo all the way to the top like the guys version. Also a weird pull in waist. Really not good.
Hi Redd, thank you for providing your feedback on the Beta Pant. We're sorry to hear that the fit and material did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments, and we will make sure to pass them to our team.
LOVE
Waterproof, comfortable. Buy a size down as they run big (but nice to wear over pants to stay warm)
Too noisy
The fabric is super noisy. I would have loved it to be a bit more subtle
