Fjallraven  Hoja Snack Bag

I broke my collarbone and have been using my bike on a smart trainer while I heal. Reaching for my water bottle in the frame can be awkward during intense workouts, so I wanted a stem bag to put the water bottle in easy reach. My local option had this for $40 and a Swift Industries bag for $60. This was works well for my scenario. I dropped it one star though because the Velcro straps it comes with aren’t great and they are almost impossible to thread through the vertical loops. I used some voille straps instead and they are a perfect match for this.

I've got a couple of discontinued Chrome Industries Feedbags on my gravel bike (which I got for $12.50/ea on clearance), and wanted to add something similar to my cargo bike. The styling on these is pretty sharp, and I read reviews (https://road.cc/content/review/specializedfjallraven-snack-bag-300433) and watched the manufacturer's product video (https://www.fjallraven.com/us/en-us/bags-gear/accessories/backpack-bag-accessories/hoja-snack-bag/?v=F23200311::7323451088513). For $40 each, they seemed a much better deal than the $60 variants on the REI site, so I ordered a pair. While it was pretty clear that these were shorter than most feedbags, I was hoping that with a 0.8L capacity, they would still fit a standard 32oz nalgene's diameter, with the top of the bottle exposed. They're not even close. These things are SMALL, like beer-koozy small. They'll support a 22oz squeeze bottle (see photo), but nothing more than that. I'll be returning these to REI, as I just want the optionality of carrying more water.

Got two bag and are perfect size for normal cycling water bottles or other small stuff. Velcro is a bit weird but having daisy chains helps a lot. I cannot understand people cycling with a Nalgene, for hiking okay but for cycling….

Does not fit a Nalgene which I’m sure most using would have appreciated. Well made bag as you would expect just misses the mark as a good piece of cycling kit. Straps feel like an afterthought but do work for attaching the bag to your bike. Bag keeps its structure when empty. As my title describes just feels a little too small compared to other bags/pouches I have used.

I bought this expecting it to fit a Nalgene bottle (which I am sure I read somewhere that is does). It definitely does not even come close. In fact a normal bottle is pretty tight too. The bag is well built as all Fjallraven products are. The bags connect well but there are 3 velcro straps which can get a bit busy if you have a snack bag and bar bag on your bike
