Lightweight, breathable but total disappointment

I'm extremely disappointed with the performance of the Summit Series Superior Futurelight jacket. This is my second one, and both have failed to keep water out. Living in California, I don't get much heavy rain to truly test it, but while back home in Ireland, where it rains constantly, this jacket was a complete letdown. Despite being less than two years old and costing approx $300, it didn't hold up at all. For a jacket marketed as waterproof, this is unacceptable. To make matters worse, The North Face doesn't stand behind their so-called lifetime warranty. Save your money!

Definitely worth the price tag!

I have to say that this jacket seemed way too overpriced but is it worth the tax! It's probably the best windbreaker there is out there IMO. I used this jacked to hike the mountains of Arkansas in 35-40 degree weather with a thin north face long sleeve under. I was so confident I'd keep me warm after putting it to the test a day before in cold rainy weather. This little jacket that weighs nothing was able to keep me warm, comfortable and light on a chilly morning in the mountains. Buy this jacket if you are a runner, hiker or just buy the jacket bc it's great for anyone.

Not waterproof

With a downpour, my down jacket underneath was wet in 30 minutes. Hiked 8 miles with a wet shirt, down jacket and this falsely advertised waterproof jacket. Had to buy another waterproof jacket after my first day of hiking in the rain. Performs like a soft shell.

Not remotely waterproof

This product is fine in light rain but in a heavy downpour you will get soaked. I contacted North Face but was fobbed off several times with a bland copy and paste message. Futurelight material is not up to the job and you'll get terrible customer service to boot so don't waste your money!

Well made

The jacket fit perfect to size. Well made and keeps in warmth and keeps out cold as well as any jacket my wife has ever used.

Great product

Is lightweight and warm. Got it as a birthday gift and she loves it. The look is understated yet still very cool.
