REI Co-op  Active Pursuits Long Shorts - Kids'

Comfortable, quick-drying, a good material for summer adventures. These shorts have a fine mesh liner like running shorts, better than the thicker mesh of swim shorts. These are good for running, hiking, swimming, or just regular wear around the house or to school.

We like these shorts a lot. They are nice and light which will be really nice this summer. We like how they fit and move with our son while he’s playing. They seem sturdy enough to hold up to play, and food, dirt, etc has washed out no problem so far. Our son likes the zipper pocket for keeping rocks and stuff he finds hiking and playing around. These seem like they'll dry quick and we'll probably wear these down to the river for fishing and wading once things warm up a bit more here.

My son loves these. They are very comfortable and light weight. He likes the color, that they are stretchy and breathable, and the pockets. The one zipper pocket on the right side is especially useful (probably more for a key or pocket knife than for a cell phone at his age). They are a little on the short side, but he is fairly tall for his age, but they might not be the best choice if sun protection is important. Have t tried swimming in them yet, and can’t tell about durability.

My 6-year-old son wore the REI Co-op Active Pursuits Long Shorts to baseball practice this past weekend, and he absolutely loved them! He’s convinced they made him faster – probably because they came from dad’s favorite tent store. 😄 The shorts are well-made and seem durable enough to withstand all the running, sliding, and rough-and-tumble activities. I also appreciate the thoughtful design – the drawstring keeps them snug, giving him room to grow into them, and the reflective logo is a nice touch for evening practices. I’m confident these shorts will hold up through plenty of wear and tear and will likely be passed down to his sibling. Another great product from REI – highly recommend!

These shorts are a great quick dry material that are comfortable for my child with a liner for swimming if needed. They also come with a quality zippered pocket for your child to carry a small phone, house key or wallet. The fit is good, with an elastic waste band and draw string. Great for camping or hiking or just everyday wear.

These are flexible an versatile shorts for active, outdoor kids. The inseam length is a happy medium to allow a large range of motion for hiking and bouldering, but very light for trail running, etc. The are lined and fast drying, which extends their use as water friendly shorts swimming, at the beach, or canyoning. Seams and pockets feel sturdy to stay durable on highly active wearers.

Nice lightweight, fast drying, stretchy material. Lined with a thin, solid, stretchy liner. My kiddo reports that these shorts a super comfortable, which is a rare for a lined short. Regular side pockets, plus a few zippered pockets give plenty of options to store treasures. I could see these being excellent for camping and hiking - any outdoor activity in hot weather. They might even be used as swim shorts in a pinch, but probably not ideal for swimming given the way the pockets are organized. My only reservation is the lightness of the fabric and its impact on durability. For kids shorts I worry about abrasion, and only time will tell if these actually hold up.

My son was excited for me to buy this. He had the same brand years ago and loved them. These shorts have changed and have a weird cut. They flare out at the bottom. The fabric is so thin, like a skirt material. Hope you can bring back the shorts with a straight cut.
