Can't believe The North Face has the nerve to charge this much for a poor quality jacket. Inside "lining" shredded apart after minimal use. It would be an insult to donate it to a thrift store or shelter. DON"T buy this product.
This jacket is terrible quality. I received as a gift from my mom and with one wash, the interior lining flaked completely off. It was all over the clothes in my washer. I called Northface to ask them to help me figure out a solution, but did not want my mom to know I was returning this product, and they were less than helpful. Spend your money on something else or else elsewhere.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Instead of the traditional mesh lining, it has a cheap plastic-feeling, gray lining that sticks to my bare skin when wearing a tshirt. Unless you zip it all the way up to your chin, the ugly gray lining is visible, completely ruining the look! The lining should be the same color as the jacket.
This is crazy that they charge so much for something that feels so flimsy and cheap. I thought there would be some soft fabric or netting inside. The inside lining looks and feels like a tarp.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the Alta Vista! Why? It has a zipped chest pocket as well as zipped hand pockets (very hard to find in Womens' rain jackets), it's light but sturdy, and it comes in XXL, which is great for layering over puffy jackets. Perfect for Maine weather, when you always need to carry a rain jacket no matter what season it is. The green camo is great--cool but not loud--and the black is my go-to for all occasions. The only other feature I'd add is a second zipped pocket on the inside. With secure room for keys or fob, wallet, phone, and Epipen, who needs to be encumbered by a pocketbook?
Totally loving my Northface Alta Vista jacket! It's been perfect for my trip to Canada where the morning weather has been cool, with a bit of rain threats! It's been perfect when the weather changes to warmer and windy! So glad I purchased it as my travel jacket!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] very disappointed with this product. not only the color is not as in the picture, but also is poorly made. attached photos for you guys to see it for yourself.
These rain jackets are crap, the liner peels after a while, looks horrible and it's no longer waterproof
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this jacket. It a little to big, put that's ok
This Dri Tec fabric seems sturdier, thicker than previous iterations and the jacket has interestingly flapless front, pit, pocket zippers. Neither size L (overall too small, too narrow upper half, too short sleeve length, tight arm scythe) nor size XL (too oversized) fit. The 2015 version, sz L, fit was sleek and roomy with saddle shoulder seams (no arm scythe constriction), modified princess seams (shaped torso), slightly longer sleeves, more length, longer pit zippers for great ventilation when worn over fleece, wool, etc.
