Cheap, fell apart after 10 hikes
No, I do not recommend this product
Can't believe The North Face has the nerve to charge this much for a poor quality jacket. Inside "lining" shredded apart after minimal use. It would be an insult to donate it to a thrift store or shelter. DON"T buy this product.

Sleeves aren’t waterproof

The sleeves on this jacket aren’t waterproof at all. It can’t last in a light drizzle for 20 minutes without being soaked through. Really bummed to have spent money on this. I definitely don’t recommend buying this product.

Size runs small for plus sized women
Great quality design and look. The XXL women's jacket runs on the small side. It is smaller than a 1X size in other brands.

Is Only Water Resistant
No, I do not recommend this product
The jacket failed completely in a downpour. The water did not even bead up on the outside - both the outside and inside got soaking wet. According to The North Face customer support, this is NOT waterproof. They claim it's water resistant so it's good as long as you're in light rain. In other words, useless.

Not a rain jacket!
No, I do not recommend this product
I bought this jacket for a trip to Alaska but we only had sunny days. However, it was great for some excursions on the water as a wind breaker. Then used it in Ireland where we had few hikes with some rain, but nothing too bad. Definitely mot torrential rain, and the jacket was absolutely not water proof. I got soaked! I could not find the rating for waterproofing but as bad as it was I guess it is 5000 or less. Too bad because otherwise it is a beautiful jacket

Yes , I recommend this product
Just spent a month in Europe Jan-Feb 2026. Used it almost daily. Used it through some real downpours. It did what it was supposed to do, keep me dry. I liked the internal and external pockets.

The color is a bit darker than I was expecting, but is very nice. It fits as expected and feels very good on! There are zippered pockets and interior pockets as well. I don’t have anything negative to say about it.

Yes , I recommend this product
I wore this jacket for 2 hours while working outside in the rain. The jacket and my shirt under it were soaked through and through. (Meanwhile, my REI rain pants stayed completely dry.) I have purchased five of these for myself and for gifts, and now regret having done so. The jacket does make a good light jacket for travel, since it is lightweight and packs down small. Just don't expect it to keep rain out, because it won't.
