Great size and quality
I bought this little two burner stove for a more efficient option when camping with my small trailer during cold weather. It performs beautifully and is a nice compact design. The stove is smaller than other two burner models out on the market, but with the side screens opened it can easily accommodate a 10 inch and an 8 inch pan side-by-side. The ignition start is very smooth and all of the knobs and latches seem high-quality. I purchased the carry case from Zempire directly and it is a perfect fit for the stove. I know I will have and use this for many years.
No lift-off here
It seems you can only use the green 1-lb bottles with this stove. We connected this newly purchased stove to a small Ignik tank and lighting one burner it sounded ok at first but then settled down a little lower than expected. Then turning on both burners, output from both drops way down. After a bit of research and now I see noted in the Questions section, REI says it can’t be used with larger tanks. This appears to be a huge design oversight—seemingly with the regulator. Consumers want flexibility in fuel options: bottles for most-portable situations but otherwise connected to bigger tanks for everything else—including using refillable bottles and less landfill waste! Otherwise we liked the stove size, controls, 4 rubber feet stabilizers, wide platform and (tantalizing but unusable for us) higher output rating. We never tested with the small 1-lb (green) bottle because we’ve never purchased them and probably never will. If the stove/regulator supported larger tanks, we would have kept it. Unfortunately, we returned it and bought another (discontinued) Eureka we found online for backup. Just to be clear, we connected our (3-year old) Eureka to the same larger tank setup—to test the same setup on something else—and Viola! we had ignition and a stove sounding like space shuttle burners!
dangerous
Bought the stove because I like the compact size. However, the valve where it screws into the propane at attachment is weak and moves around inside the stove. This was originally concerning to me and then after five or six uses, it started to leak propane inside the stove. I noticed sustained flame inside the stove and immediately turned it off, then try it again and it was still there. I will be returning it because that is dangerous.
