Cushion for miles and miles and miles

Received free product

Fit, form and function. These are the cushiest shoes I have ever worn! I ran on crushed gravel, pavement, and on the treadmill. While I’m not used to running in a shoe with this much cushion, I found running in them outside to be quite comfortable. Six miles in and my legs felt fresh! I actually feel taller in these shoes (all that cushion!), which took a bit of adjustment when running. While the added cushion felt great outdoors, I felt a bit unstable on the treadmill. Pros: They have an awesome heel pad (see picture) that hold my heel secure - fantastic for those of us with narrow heels. As an added bonus, I found the heel pad also kept all of those annoying little pebbles from working their way into the shoe while running. Cons: it’s minor, but I don’t know why running companies can’t get laces right! If you tie your shoes with a heel lock and a double knot, you will want to replace the laces with a longer set. Heads-up: Compared to other brands of running shoes, I find I need a 1/2 size larger in ASICS.

Trash

It tore after 1 month of use! Very expensive for such poor quality! A disgrace…

Just OK, a good basic shoe

Received free product

I generally run in very minimalist shoes and was excited to try these for use in long recovery runs and on pavement to lessen the shock, but in the end due to the weight, these seem better for general training runs. It didn't feel like cushion overload or too bouncy. Pros: The mesh tongue makes it easy to make sure it's flat against your foot keeping the top of my foot very comfortable. The shoe seemed rather wide, almost like there was too much upper, but it didn't feel too big when running and the reinforced toe is great. I did feel a bit of a burning sensation under the balls of my feet after three miles, but with a little work with the laces it was greatly improved. The stretchy loop on the back of the shoe is a great help in getting the shoe on and should keep everyone from smashing their foot into the shoe to get it on and my foot didn't feel like it was sliding around. I had absolutely no rubbing of the heels or ankle bones and my toes had plenty of room. Cons: Feels like a lot of shoe, and overly clunky. Lighter would be nicer for recovery and the upper could be more breathable. It would also be nice if the loop on the tongue was stitched into two so that you could use two loops to tighten down. I really miss having a little gel that softens in the midsole below the arch of the foot. Could that be a thing again rather than all foam?

Lightweight and Supportive

Received free product

I’ve enjoyed the ASICS Gel Nimbus for both running and everyday wear. The shoes are comfortable, lightweight, have good support, and absorb impact well. Pros: + Excellent cushioning and comfort for long periods of use + Lightweight, yet supportive + Great for flat feet + Durable Cons: -A little bulky - A “roll forward” feeling when walking/running because of the shape of the sole Overall, if you're looking for a supportive, cushioned shoe for everyday running or walking, the ASICS Gel Nimbus is a solid choice.

Bulky & Caused pain in foot and knee

I typically purchase Gel Contends (which I love),I was so excited to try these shoes. I thought that 160 bucks would make for the perfect shoe, but now I have a pair of expensive shoes that I can't return because I wore them for one day. Wearing them caused pain in my middle arch & my knee on my right side, and the shoes were a bit too roomy back by the heel. I can see how the squishy heel would be heavenly for folks who might have issues there, but these shoes just aren't for me. I'm sad, but will hopefully find someone local who might buy them from me so I can buy me a pair of my usual Gel Contends.

Solid running shoe

Received free product

Put these on and immediately headed out for a run. The tongue felt a little tight but the toe box is very roomy. They did get a little warm although they may be because I have the black color. Overall not as squishy as some shoes but decent mix of cushion and bounce. Didn’t feel heavy felt pretty light and fast for all the cushion. No hot spots or blisters or sores after my run. Overall comfortable shoes for road running.

Great shoe with a minor defect

I am a casual runner and my steps are underpronated. I’ve worn the gel-nimbus 27s on a couple runs and several walks - so far so good. The shoes are very comfortable, supportive, and stylish. I would have given the product 5 stars, however, I don’t love the front toe guard. It almost seems like it should come up over the toes a little more. Additionally, the left toe guard indents when I wear the shoes. It doesn’t matter if I’m walking or running. I have only worn the shoes about 5 times and haven’t encountered anything that should have messed with the toe guard (e.g., stubbing the left shoe on something). The dent does touch my toe a little and the sensation is annoying if I think about it too long. I’m going to keep using the shoes in hopes that the indent doesn’t bother me too much / doesn’t cause any pain or discomfort. It’s too bad that something so little kept this shoe from being truly perfect. I’ve attached a couple pictures in different lighting to capture the indent.

Poor Quality

I bought these shoes a few months ago, and already have holes forming in the toe bed. This seems to be a common issue with these shoes. I submitted a warranty claim but was this rejected since it's considered an issue with normal wear of the shoe. These shoes are not worth the money when holes form after a few months of use. Very disappointed with my purchase.

Cushy trainer to increase mileage

Received free product

I haven’t worn ASICS in a few years but these showed up at just the right time. At first I thought they might be a little heavier and bulkier than I normally want in a shoe but once I had them on and running I didn’t notice. I found them to be a good cushion to the foot strike. I generally need a wider toe box than what ASICS offer, but this shoe was just right at the forefoot. The knitted tongue fit snugly without slipping, but I did find a small amount of slipping under my heel which isn’t terrible but the only drawback and why it lost one star. I’ll have to play with the lacing more to see if I can’t eliminate that. The sole isn’t too grippy so I’m glad the winter slush and ice is completely gone. The shoes handled well on both the road and a crushed gravel running path. Overall a comfortable trainer as I pick up more mileage for my summer races. I’m a few pounds heavier coming out of the winter and it’s nice to have a shoe that cushioned the impact of my step.

Great stability shoe but has design flaws

Great stability, fit my orthotics from podiatrist, nice style, but holes started to develop within a few months. I even went to a specialty running shoes store that fitted me as wide. I had previously bought this same shoe (older model a year prior), which had the same issue. I still wear the shoe (a year later), but had to sew the 4 holes. I recently bought a pair of Sketchers Max Cushioning Endeavor running shoe that has a reinforced overlay in the toes section where these Asics shoes tend to tear. Asics, please redesign the toe section with more toe section reinforcement.
