This jacket works as a perfect mid layer for my kiddo. On cold winter days it adds an extra layer of warmth under her winter jacket, and on a breezy 45 degree day in Wisconsin, it kept her perfectly warm while spending the day at the playground! The proportions of the jacket are such that she will get more than one seasons use out of it. Zippers were all of great quality and I really appreciated the zippered hand pockets, which allows her to store things without losing them. The eleastic around the edge of the hood is also a nice touch, as it helped keep the hood on as the afternoon wind picked up!

This fleece jacket is made from a cozy fabric, perfect for cool mornings and evenings. It’s lightweight and great for layering! My son has worn it to school and on backpacking trips, and he really enjoys it. It fits well, keeps him warm without overheating, and seems very well made and durable so far. Highly recommend!

My daughter really loves this jacket! She’s worn it in a range of weather, from slightly chilly (65 degrees in Florida winter) to layering it under a shell for skiing. In terms of fit, she is 7.5 years old, weighs about 50 lbs and the Medium fits her a hint big, which was intentional so that she can wear it for one more season. She absolutely loves the thumb holes and how soft it is inside. She also loves the hood, huge difference maker! It’s also very convenient that the pockets have zippers to hold a snack or unique leaves or anything else she finds on our walks. This jacket is for our oldest but we have 2 younger kids as well. I love how it has a large, visible tag to write a name on it. And even better with this jacket, it has 3 lines for names so that it can be handed down- I appreciate this so much! One more very small thing, it does have a loop to hang it on a coat rack, which is extremely helpful for us in terms of keeping things organized around the house. Highly recommended!

My son has mostly been wearing this as a zipper hoodie rather than a jacket the last few weeks. He is 6 years old, 3’ 11” and 47 lbs. We got a size small which we knew would be on the bigger side, an xs would be what we would expect would fit him perfect right now, the sizing appears true to size. We ski, and in the coming weeks for spring ski season he’ll probably be using this on warm days in place of his heavy winter gear over his bibs. This may work for a spring or fall jacket but if you have cold winter weather where you live like we do, it won’t replace a coat. He likes that there are zipper pockets to keep rocks and treasure in, and how soft it is inside. From a parent’s point of view if feels like it should hold up, and so far, so good. He is also a big fan of the thumb holes, which I like a lot of the same things too. I also like that it looks nice, we have had to wash it a few times, and all spills come out easily and it has not shrunk. There is also a label on the inside for you to write your kids name, which is nice for wearing to school and sports. The color is really nice and seems like it goes with most of his pants. We like this jacket/hoodie a lot and are really glad to have it as part of our son’s wardrobe.

My son loves this jacket. He wears it to school any chance he gets. He says it is very comfortable and soft. The hood fits well. The arms are a touch long for him, but this makes wearing the thumb holes easier. The material is warm enough to be a standalone jacket if cooler temps and thin enough to be layered under his coat is colder weather. He also loves the color and pockets. It also comes with a tag to write his name on the inside behind the pocket so it doesn’t go missing at school. He is 48” tall and the small fits comfortably with some room to grow. He is very active a pretty tough on his clothes, but the jacket shows no obvious signs of wear in the few weeks he’s been wearing it. Time will tell if it continues to hold up well and he can pass it on to his younger brothers.

Great light weight fleece jacket. Works well to layer under a rain jacket or shell. Fabric feels very nice and has good deep pockets. My daughter really likes the green color. She said this jacket would be great for wearing by itself in the early fall or spring. Does wish it was a bit more wind proof but overall loves the jacket!

Although this fleece jacket is a tad big on my 7 year old, he wants to wear it all the time. He loves the thumb holes, the stretchy material and how soft and comfortable it is. The light green color looks great in person and has not faded and the materials are still in tact after several washes. The zippers are also very easy to operate for kids. I'm always making sure he doesn't leave or lose this at school!

I bought a similar jacket (size extra small) for my son in 2024. It ranked an ”A+" for wash and wear: no shrinkage, quality fabric and true to size. REI Co-op products have proven to be of high quality. The purchase of this jacket in fall of 2025 appears to be of the same quality. I give it four stars as the jacket has not been worn or washed as of yet.

The jacket is a nice mid-to-lightweight knit fleece material. However, the zipper is problematic. My daughter (10, perfectly capable of zipping & unzipping her own jackets) has struggled with this zipper. When she has asked for help, I HAVE STRUGGLED with this zipper. Will likely look to another brand when she grows out of this jacket (we had previously bought the knit fleece jackets from H&M and loved them, but this year, did not see them available).

My 12 year son loves this hoodie and wears it all the time. He is tall for his age and the youth XL fits him just right. I would describe it as a lightweight hoodie that is good for cool (not cold) weather or for use during light-to-moderate activity. Excellent choice for layering in any weather. The material is soft but not fluffy and so far has been durable. Through several uses and washes we haven't noticed any fading, shrinking, or pilling. My son's favorite feature is the thumb holes, which he says keeps the sleeves all the way down to his wrists. He also likes the zip pockets. When asked what he wished were different, he said he wished it had interior pockets. We got the stone green and we weren't sure if we were going to like the color but it's actually a nice soft green that looks good with other colors. Great choice for outdoor activities, casual social settings, school, road trips, or just lounging around the house!
