Comfort is Perfect, Upper Wears Quickly!

I’ve been using the Adidas Adizero EVO SL exclusively for road running (5 miles every other day on pavement). They felt broken-in from day one—true to size, secure, no heel slip, and the cushioning stays nicely balanced with a smooth, springy rebound. After runs, my legs feel fresh and protected. That said, traction is a weak spot on wet spots and painted lines, and the bigger issue for me is durability: the upper wore out extremely fast. After about 290 miles in three months, they’re already falling apart, so I wouldn’t buy another pair or recommend them despite how great they feel to run in. (I’m hoping the EVO SL ATR version’s updated upper/outsole addresses this.)

Light weight, responsive, and fast shoe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a few runs in and I’m hooked. These are a darn fine shoe. Crushed my fastest 10k to date in them. Feet, ankles and shins feel amazing in them. They are comfy on the feet, responsive in a swaying forward response, and look amazing. Can’t complain. They are not just the Internet hype shoe I thought they would be. I usually size up a half size in running shoes, and mostly still have a snug fit in most running shoes. I went up to 10.5 and my feet do feel like there is extra movement but I don’t feel like I’m skidding around in my shoes.

Comfortable but quality is not holding up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality did not hold up to the value and the look of the shoe. I haven’t ran a mile in these running shoes and they are already showing signs of heavy use. I haven’t owned the shoes for a week before starting to come apart. Not sure if I would recommend due to that aspect of owning showed. The design look and feel are very comfortable.

Eye candy and durable.

An eye-candy of a shoe and great for running or roaming about in style. It feels light yet durable for easy or speedier runs. The style itself is very unique and looks great with any outfit. The front part is a little narrow compared to other shoes, but still manages to get a good bounce and support.

Bad quality material

Terrible quality material The quality of the upper show is not very durable. I’ve had mine for 6 months and worn them twice a week. The upper material has already worn out in certain areas and I have to holes already. See pics

Great for any type of run!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s an amazing shoe with versatility. These shoes can be used on any day. The Light Strike foam offers just the right amount cushion for those slow/easy recovery miles, and it’s both bouncy and snappy for those tempo/faster runs. I have no issues with the fit. My foot is secure with no heal slippage, and I have enough room in the toe box area. It’s definitely true to size and comfortable. I only have two minor complaints: 1) Shoe laces could be a bit longer (came up short when tying runners loop) and can be of better quality. 2) The tongue could be thicker, occasionally it slides down. But overall it’s an excellent shoe that’s very enjoyable to run in.

Beauty and function for a heavy runner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I admit I partly bought this shoe due to hype and good reviews. It’s also very lovely to look at. However, it is staying in my rotation because as a heavy runner (6ft & 250lbs) the Lightstrike Pro midsole provides the perfect amount of bounce and softness/firmness ratio. It can handle my super slow pace without complaint, and helps me out on my run. I don’t use it for every run as I like to switch things up, but it puts a smile on my face when I take it out. PS I switched out the laces for shark tooth ones, but it’s definitely runnable in the originals too. Oh and I went with my cm size rather than uk size.

Favorite running shoes

These shoes have been part of my running rotation for 2 months (I have only been running consistently for about 3). I absolutely love wearing them, they feel so comfy! They are my favorite pair. I have narrow ankles and like my toe box to be wide; my feet are overall on the thinner side. The toe box is great and I have to tie a runners knot so I don't slip (and wear cushioned socks). I usually wear a size 8.5 in my running shoes, but I am a 7.5 in these!! (In general, I find Adidas to run large for me.) I also have to put some of the laces under the tongue loop thingy, the tongue slides around otherwise.

Bottom sole is tearing off

I’m really disappointed with the Adidas EVO SL. I bought these shoes expecting great quality for the price, but after only a short period of regular use, the bottom sole started to rip off. It began as a small separation near the heel, but quickly worsened to the point where the sole is now peeling away significantly, making the shoes uncomfortable and basically unusable. What’s frustrating is that I didn’t put these through any extreme conditions—just normal street running it’s been less than 30 miles. For a brand that’s supposed to be reliable, this feels like a major quality control issue. The upper part of the shoe still looks fine, which makes it even more annoying that the sole failed so quickly. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend these. Durability is clearly a problem, and I expected much better craftsmanship. Save your money and look for something more reliable.
