North Face - corporate hypocrites

I like this hat. I would like to buy it. The North Face was once my favorite brand of outdoor gear. I bought thousands of dollars worth of their stuff. A few years back, the company trashed the oil industry. Turns out, almost all North Face products are made with petroleum products. The hypocrisy and inauthenticity made me stop buying products from the North Face.

It’s a hat

The design is a little lame. I ordered the L/XL which fits well, but the adjustment strap in the back is not long enough to tuck into the band of the hat, which leaves 2 inches of strap dangling loose in the back. My head is not THAT big - it’s just poor design.

Awesome hat

I bought this hat for a trip to Hawaii and it was perfect! I hike a lot at home and usually wear regular baseball caps, but they’re not breathable and make my hairline break out. I knew it would be hot and humid on my trip, so I wanted something lightweight. I tried on a bunch of hats at REI and landed on this one. I love the green color and the hat fit my head really well (I got S/M size). The hat was perfect for my trip! My head didn’t get overly sweaty and it packed well in my bag. I’ll probably get it in black and purple too! It’ll be great for hikes at home in WA.

Not good

The THN Horizon hat has been my favorite baseball cap for years. I own four of them in various colors. For some reason this newest version they decided to go with a deeper style, more like a truck driver hat, and it's horrible. It sits so low on your head, that as another reviewer said, it pushes your ears out. They should never have messed with the design.

Stylish, Light, and Comfortable!

I've been trying to find a hat that's similar to my Nike hat that's the same color, but it's not made of material to exercise in. This hat fits my head incredibly well, it's very soft, light, and cooling. I would buy it again!

lopsided

Bought the hat to wear rucking. Loved it until I looked in the mirror and saw that it was lopsided - taller on one side over the other. Looked goofy. Returned to REI (great) and planned to exchange for same hat. Those were lopsided too. North face must have some quality control issues or hat is designed to be lopsided - which I doubt - if so, they nailed it! Don’t think it is my head - got and REI folding brim hat in its place - not lopsided!

Came unclipped and lost it.

I bought this hat 2 weeks before losing it. I liked the look and color, it was semi-comfortable, but I clipped it to my raincoat for 2 days before it was gone. The clasp is a terrible design and it must've come unclipped. How can an outdoor company expect you to rely on their product if you cant clip the hat to anything without it easily coming undone? Don't buy this design unless you intend on modifying the clasp yourself to make it moderately reliable.

Poor band design

The band at the back of the head is attached by an open hook. Unfortunately any time I try to slip the hat on over my ponytail it unhooks itself. Plus the adjustable band doesn’t hold tension well. I have to retighten it multiple times during my run. This also causes the hook to slip open and I have to deal with re-hooking it. I really wanted to like this hat! I’ve been an avid supporter of NF for running hats, but I can’t stand by this one

Flexible While Maintaining Its Shape

Initially I bought the hat for my wife, but it was too large for her head so I exchanged lunar slate for tnf black and love it. Comfortable, versatile, and flexible while also maintaining its shape. The liner has a lasting quality that will last through many adventures.
