Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and Âľ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Good Rain Pants
I've had these for a few weeks but the weather hasn't given me the opportunity to test in a real life scenario yet. So I did the next best thing and saw how they handled in a shower. I ran the water full blast for 5 minutes and the jeans underneath stayed completely dry. Pants are true to size, I got a small and they fit well. In the pictures I am wearing them over a pair of baggy straight-leg jeans. They fit equally well over a pair of leggings thanks to the drawstring. The only thing I'm not sure of is the zipper flap/cover for the pockets. It lays the opposite direction you would think so I'm curious when I wear these out hiking if it will keep all water out or if it could potentially pool up and seep in. Otherwise these seem like they'll be great and last a long time.
Only Rain Gear I’ve Tried that Doesn’t Wet Out
I just wore these this past week on the Appalachian Trail for my job. It was a complete deluge with nonstop, soaking rain in almost freezing temps. To my surprise, these pants did wet out even after hours of heavy downpour. The only rain gear I have ever tried that hasn’t wetted out. Can’t believe I’ve fallen in love with anything rain related as everything I’ve tried in the past has failed me. If I can swing it, I’m going to upgrade my jacket as well. It’s pricey but worth it- buy once, cry once. Happy Trails- and stay dry!
They fit, stayed up, and kept me dry
My previous rain pants kept falling down causing them to fail, so I picked up these with hopes of a better fit & coverage. The drawstring at the waist worked great to keep the pants up and the zippers at the ankles made them easy to get on/off. I wore these for 2 days in the rain and stayed dry. My only complaint is the elastic pull at the ankles to synch the legs down kept falling out from under the pants and getting tangled on branches and briars. Would be good to have a way to keep that cord tucked away a bit better. Not a deal breaker- especially if you are never going to synch up the legs.
Excellent rain pants, wish they came in petite
These rain pants do what they're supposed to do - and isn't that all you need from rain pants? They are lightweight and comfortable. I haven't taken them in a full downpour yet, because the current weather where I live is snow, not rain, but so far they're waterproof. They move easily, which my last pair of rain pants did not. I can actually snowshoe in these! My usual pant size is women's ~12 (though we all know that women's sizes are all over the place) and the XL fit nicely over a pair of insulated leggings. These would be five stars if there were length options - I'm 5'4" and all "regular" pants are a bit long on me. That said, these aren't bad for pants that are too long - I rolled the waist (though it didn't always stay rolled) and I didn't trip over them.
Rain Pants You Will Want to Own
I live in the pacific northwest and have an 80 pound dog who needs long walks twice a day regardless of the weather. These rain pants are perfect for the job. I am also an avid backpacker and these pants are well suited for that as well. They are lightweight and very packable. I particularly like the zips at the bottom of the pants allowing for easy on and off without removing your boots (an essential for backpacking). The two zippered slash pockets are well placed and roomy (perfect for carrying treats for the dog and me). I ordered a large so that they would be big enough to fit an insulation layer. They are roomy but still very serviceable. They are comfortable in all ways. The elastic waist and drawstring makes them quite adjustable. As i mentioned basically I live in a rainforest. They have kept me dry regardless of the weather. These pants are well made and thoughtfully designed. i don't have any complaints about these rain pants. They are in fact better than most i have owned in the past.
Yup!
Stoked for these! I've needed rain pants for ages and finally tried a bunch on at REI. Turns out I need the long length in these, I'm usually between a M and a L in REI gear these days and between a regular and tall size. I ended up with these in a MT. The Ms were short, and these have a taller rise than other pants so I can wear them higher, which I like. The length is LONG, if the rise wasn't so high they'd be too long. I haven't tried them in the rain yet but I'm going to Alaska soon for 11 weeks so I'll update if there are any problems - I'm not anticipating any! They aren't flattering but who cares so long as you're dry!
You need these for the rain or waterfalls!
Excellent for changing rain and wind in Iceland! Kept me dry!
Best rain pants on the market!
I cannot say enough about these pants! Probably my best REI purchase to date, ever! I love love love these rain pants. They keep you warm as well as cool in the summer. They keep you dry in the rain and wet conditions without seeping through the material. They are lightweight and SO comfortable. Forget the expenny brands and give these a try. A massive bonus for me was that they are available in petite size!
dry and comfortable
Perfect for a rainy trip in Iceland! Perfect that these were offered in tall sizes and the pants are stretchy unlike other rain pants I tried. Was out in the rain for several hours and was always dry!
