Best Altra trail shoe yet!
My new favorite trail shoe!!!! Lighter than the Mont Blanc Carbon, better heel lockdown and tongue than the Mont Blanc. I ran multiple ultras in the original and a few including a very rough 100 in the Carbon, and these Speed solves every issue I had with both! Perfect heel lockdown, padded tongue and plenty of protection, all while being very lightweight. I can’t wait to run my upcoming 60 miler and Barkley Fall Classic in these!

Altra hit a home run here. I've tried the prodigio pro, terra kiger, wildhorse, Olympus, agravic ultra, asics. This shoe is better. Zero drop, breathability, insole friction, outsole grip, width, foot volume, lightweight, cushion with stability in a moderate stack. Dries quickly. Durability has been good so far in eastern US woodlands.

I’ve had these shoes for 8 months and they are great. They’re a great fit and have held up well. I especially like the vibram outsole for the durability and wish Altra would include it on more of their shoes. I really like this shoe and hope they continue to offer it in the years to come.
