Altra  Mont Blanc Speed Trail-Running Shoes - Men's

I gave the Mont Blanc a second star because the shoe was comfortable and good for about 75 miles. The tread on the bottom began to fall off in under a 100 miles, by 400 miles the shoe was completely worn through. I jammed my finger through the bottom of the shoe it was so worn away. The quality control of Altra’s shoes has gone downhill. This isn’t the first pair of Altra’s that have fallen apart on me in under 100 miles, but they will be the last. I’m switching brands after dozen of pairs from Altra.

My new favorite trail shoe!!!! Lighter than the Mont Blanc Carbon, better heel lockdown and tongue than the Mont Blanc. I ran multiple ultras in the original and a few including a very rough 100 in the Carbon, and these Speed solves every issue I had with both! Perfect heel lockdown, padded tongue and plenty of protection, all while being very lightweight. I can’t wait to run my upcoming 60 miler and Barkley Fall Classic in these!

I nowhave 100 miles on them and so far a 25k race and 50k race. They are holding up well, maybe wearing on the slight fast side. But these shoes are amazing! It has a good amount of cushion, but I love the ground feel and ran technical hills without holding back and full confidence. Prior to this I ran in the Timp 6. Another great shoe, but lost some ground feel and for me the cushion wore unevenly leading to some ankle stress. The speeds seem to be holding up much better in this area and the foam still has strong rebound.

Altra hit a home run here. I've tried the prodigio pro, terra kiger, wildhorse, Olympus, agravic ultra, asics. This shoe is better. Zero drop, breathability, insole friction, outsole grip, width, foot volume, lightweight, cushion with stability in a moderate stack. Dries quickly. Durability has been good so far in eastern US woodlands.

One of the most comfortable trail shoes I've ever owned. Great heal lock and good space in the box. Very light and quick feeling while running.

I usually trail run in a the lone peaks, bought these for races, they are nice and lightweight, soft cushion, which I wanted, but definitely run much smaller than any of my other altra models. I wish they made cross between this and the lone peak. This is just a little too unstable for really technical New England trails. The grip on this is way better than lone peak.

I’ve had these shoes for 8 months and they are great. They’re a great fit and have held up well. I especially like the vibram outsole for the durability and wish Altra would include it on more of their shoes. I really like this shoe and hope they continue to offer it in the years to come.

Awesome midsole and breathable upper. I would love to see at a minimum 4 mm lugs and a better hold in the mid foot.
