Big-headed rider friendly
Previous Bontrager helmet replacement from a crash - Bontrager did the job but whenl I put this Smith MIPS on...who knew! Amazingly comfortable fit. I actually look forward to wearing it on rides and most of all it feels great worn securely enough to do it's job in a crash. Love this helmet and definitely accommodates my 7 3/4 inch head.

Bike Helmet
Really liked this helmet, stylish but subtle, lightweight and comfy, initially. As the months went, I started noticing the poor quality. The padding on the inside came loose too often, and it wore down and became flat in less than 6months of use. Granted I ride almost everyday, but I expected more from a $175 helmet. I've had cheaper Bern helmets (60 to 80 dollars) that lasted longer (2 or 3yrs) and were just as comfortable, although heavier. Also, one of the buckles to adjust the head straps just fell apart, I was just doing a simple adjustment. This Smith one only lasted just over a year (purchased Feb 2019- April 2020). Will not purchase another Smith helmet. Their glasses are great, I'll stick to buying those.

Can't Get Pads from Smith

I bought this helmet, because I had a previous Smith bike helmet that I used for 4-5 years and liked. I contacted Smith customer service to get some sets of replacement sweat pads for it, because I go through 2-3 sets every summer. It's hot here and I sweat profusely. Eventually, the pads start to fall apart. Smith was unable to provide me with any replacement pads. It's a current helmet in their lineup, and without some way to get those pads, it's useless to me after about three months. I honestly do not understand this interaction with Smith customer service. But I just returned the helmet unused. I'm hoping another maker will provide better access to what I need in a helmet.

It works

Was using this while riding on a newer MTB I picked up (I'm a beginner really) and slipped while taking a turn. I wasn't going too fast and sort of let the bike slide and just kind of went with the fall as opposed to trying any sort over-correction (although not sure if that was best?) Ended up being a patch of rocks there and hit it decently hard with the front bit of the helmet, down in the bottom corner. I think all things considered, this would have been quite a gash or concussion even, considering the rocks but helmet took the shock. This. Thing. Works. It left a small dent, but i'm all good. Really glad I had this helmet on and that it was sized correctly (Thank you REI!).

Good but pricey

Best fitting helmet I've owned for my round head. It just doesn't move around even on long rough descents. The straps though are very finicky compared to similarly priced helmets. It took a few rides to dial in the fit. Sunglass dock kinda works, it's really clumsy. The venting is really good compared to my first MIPS helmet which was a sweatbox. The materials, fit and finish are excellent and its super lightweight. I just don't know if I would recommend this helmet unless it fits better than other helmets you've tried.

Great

I bought this helmet after reading an extensive article on the safety benefits of MIPS, so my next helmet having this technology was non-negotiable for me. This helmet fits my head perfectly (my head is more oval than round) and is quite breathable on warmer days. It's not quite as light or ventilating as the super high end helmets that you can get, but at this price point it's hard to find another option that works as well. I haven't had to test the durability fortunately, but the "koroyd" material seems quite protective, it looks almost exactly like the Bontrager wavecel but is only on the sides rather than across the entire helmet.

Perfect Fit.

I have a GIANT head and always struggle finding helmets that fit and look well. This helmet does both! I got a Large. Usually wear hats 7 3/4, where my big heads at!!!

Might have saved my life

The helmet is comfortable and adjustable and all the nice things but the true test is when you finally take a good spill. I took an awkward fall in such a way that my head hit first and absorbed all the impact. The helmet cracked into several pieces but I somehow managed to avoid a concussion. Ordered the same helmet the next day.

Comfortable and safe

The helmet initially struck me as fairly stylish and the added safety above MIPS was a deciding factor in my purchase. Now that I have it, I can say it's very comfortable and easy to size for myself before each ride (depending on hair length I tend to adjust it). The only con is possibly the green color, but even that I dont really mind at all. The straps also sit oddly on my face, but I believe this is really just in comparison to my last helmet and is no way uncomfortable, just different.

Nice helmet, padding fell apart almost immediately

I stuck with Scott as I’ve had multiple road and mountain bike helmets from them in the past. The Network is a less pricey but nice option, and it’s comfortable and fits well. However, the padding fell apart within just a few months. Really disappointed in the quality.
