I purchased this knife through a Kickstarter campaign. I'd had good success with other Kickstarters Outdoor Element has sponsored. This knife is no exception. I previously had a neck knife that was very lightweight, but its handle was a spiral of metal instead of something one grasps with their entire hand. It was functional, but a tang-style handle feels much safer. This knife weighs more than my other knife, but it fits my hand well. If I'm pressed to use it in self-defense, it's a much more effective weapon. I'm also less likely to cut myself when slicing up bits of lunch. I didn't need yet another whistle or yet another firestarter, but it's nice to have them handy as a 'just in case.' I'm not crazy about the sheath. Because I wear this on a lanyard around my neck, the sheath feels like overkill. The knife is very secure within it, and it's easy to pop out when you want it. (I have nerve damage in my dominant hand & arthritis in both thumbs. It's a relief for me to be able to deploy the knife quickly & easily.) I don't care for the clip. It's a bit narrower than my belt, and it grasps the webbing like crazy. I found it incredibly difficult to remove. That's why I went to wearing it around my neck, and I have to remind myself to never ever clip it to my belt. For some, the stoutness of the clip will be a positive feature.
Excellent knife, actually it’s a survival package. Feels great in the hand, throws sparks like crazy and comes razor sharp. The packaging itself is indicative of the quality and care put into the product. I’ve bought two of these and will be buying more for gifts. Also will be buying the Flicker knife. Well worth the price !! You won’t be disappointed
Great little knife, perfect for camping. The sheath with the fire starter and sharpener, and it taking up zero space and being super lite-weight makes it easy to be the only knife you need.
This small fixed blade is my go-to for hiking. I feel safer knowing I have a way to cut, start fire and signal should I need to. LOVE IT!
I love the blade on all the Outdoor Element knives and this one is no exception. The knife sharpener and fire starter on the sheath are also super convenient and east to use. I have this knife on my desk at home and use it frequently to open packages, envelopes, etc... It's then right there for when I go back backing and need to cut paracord or sharpen a stick.
Great camping knife! I have carried this knife on several camping/canoe trips and love the quality. The hex tool on the handle makes swapping the rods out incredibly easy. Flipping the hex rod around for more grip space made it great for teaching my son. Blade stays sharp but its nice to have a stone built in to touch up the edge
Great knife! Lightweight and easy to carry on backpacking and fishing trips. The steel does not rust easily, so I have one in my fishing bag for cutting line, etc. This knife having a fire starter, whistle, and sharpener make this a great options for backpackers to use as a survival tool. Love it and highly recommend!
I got this knife for my son and he loves it! It’s the only knife he takes backpacking. After a lot of use over 2 trips it still has a sharp edge. He has the sheath clipped to his backpack and loves how well the sheath holds the knife, it is easy to remove and resheath.
Surprisingly impressed with this knife. Has a thick blade that feels good in the hand that makes a good bushcraft knife for hiking, camping or any outdoor adventures. The ferro rod is a great addition
The Scout Feather is a nice compact edc fixed blade. I find it convenient to keep, use and carry. I like the built in blade sharpener and ferro rod. Outdoor element customer service is top notch.
