My favorite running shorts!

I usually like my running gear to be loose fitting - but I took a chance on these and they are like butter! Stayed comfortable when running Rim 2 Rim 2 Rim in the Grand Canyon in 80-90 degree weather, no chafing! I also love the side pockets - they held my iPhone 13 Pro Max without falling out while running. The 5' length is ideal because most booty shorts are too tiny for me but this length was perfect without riding up my thighs. Please come out with more colors Arcteryx!

I wanted to love them

I bought these and sized up according to what the other reviews said. I should have sized up two sizes, but I still don't know if that would have worked. As some other people have mentioned they squeeze your thighs and do not look good. I am athletic, but I would not say I have big thighs. They fit great around the waste. I need to return them anyways because they came with a tear in the stitching on one of the legs, but I am unsure of whether or not I will purchase them again.

Love these shoets but sizing is WAY off

Love these shorts - perfect rise so they sit on your natural waist, the 5" length is flattering and covers a bigger booty, durable material and they even have side pockets! I would have rated 5 starts but they run VERY small. I have a 27in waist so I ordered my usual size 4 and they were literally cutting off circulation... had to size up 3 (!!) sizes to a size 10 for them to fit comfortably.

These Do Not Work For My Body... and that's ok!

I own the 8" short and they're my favourites, so I bought the 5" to see if I was missing out. Sadly, they don't work for my body type. My thigh is 24" around at the widest part, and during a Peloton ride yesterday they rolled up, creating an awful hot pants look and cut off my circulation. It was impossible to keep them in place during the ride. It made me so mad that I cut my workout short. I will be trading these in and sticking with my 8" shorts. Athletic and curvy thighs, try before you buy.

Great skinny thighs

Not so great if you have meat in your thighs because they will just keep riding up. They have no support. Material and quality is definitely up there but I wouldn't recommend it to people with thick thighs. I'd wear it at the gym but not outdoors. I had to keep pulling them down. Really wanted to like these pair because they have deep pockets which is rare for a lot of cycling shorts.

Second Skin!

These shorts are practically perfect. With the right amount of compression, they sit so nicely and are so flattering while being comfortable. They don't ride up and are great for anything from running, to yoga, to climbing and everything in between. Simple and fantastic. One pair isn't enough!

Changes, not all bad

Overall seems like a well made piece. The material is the same fiber blend as the previous model so I am hopeful they will last up to abuse just as long! The pockets seem to be laid differently but time will tell if the change is noticeable. The hem right at the belly is a little different as well as there is less material there. I imagine this is to provide comfort without adding any extra encumbering fabric. I believe these were designed to be a trim fit so be aware when selecting your size. I bought these shorts in a 12 and a 14 as I have a pair of the older model in an XL. The 12 didn’t fit and the 14 feels very close to my skin but not uncomfortable. The tag also feels cheap as it is a long piece of uncomfortable poly blend stitched into the seam. The old Arc’teryx tags were often stitched into the seam on a piece of spare fabric that you could cut without damaging the seam or leaving behind tag remnants. It seems like a small thing, but it was a thoughtful design choice that made me always go to Arc’teryx for gear.

Favourite shorts for outdoor activities

I wear these for running, biking, and outdoor climbing, and love the fit on them. Doesn't ride up, wicks sweat away well, and holds my phone securely. Haven't tested how they hold up on sandpaper walls in climbing gyms yet but like everything else about it.

Tiny Thighs Only

So much potential, but these were not made for women with athletic or muscular thighs. I'm 5'9'', 145lb, a skier. They fit on the waist and hips but pinched uncomfortably around the thigh seams. Didn't look good, didn't feel good, so I returned them.

Great all round shorts

Comfortable waistband, good pockets, nice length. I usually wear an 8-12 in street clothes and stick with medium or 8 in technical performance materials, but I got a 10 in these and they fit perfect. They ride up a bit which can be annoying.
