Though my first color choice wasn't available, I was extremely pleased with what I ended up getting - Eclipse Black. The backpack arrived neatly packaged with that delightful brand new smell. One could tell that they take pride in their products' presentation. My Platypus 1.8 L hydration bladder easily fits into it. The two water bottle mesh pockets on either side can hold my Camelbak Eddy but anything slimmer will fit much more easily. The top zippered pocket provides quick access to small items like your keys, sunglasses, chapstick, a candy bar, and the like. The zipper's loop pull makes it easy to open and close it with one finger. Additionally the orange color contrast does not only provide for esthetics but more importantly for ease in finding your items. Lightly packed, it sits comfortably on my back and the chest straps work as expected. Surprisingly, mine had a small whistle attached to it. Though not as usefull, still a nice touch. I love that the waist straps are removable so you don't have them dangling if you don't need them. The shoulder straps have a decent amount of padding. Depending on how heavy you lug around and for how long, you may feel the strain sooner than if you had a thicker padding. For reference and comparison, I am 5'5" and somewhat active. This Nano 16 is perfect for my daily needs - the gym, errands, and long hikes by the beach. It is small and lightweight but has a very robust structure to it. I would recommend this for the daily minimalist or the world traveler who can throw this in their suitcase for local treks at their destination. This is my first Gregory and I am very pleased.
Fantastic backpack for a GC Rim 2 Rim hike I did last month. Rugged, breathable but repellant; perfect size for what I needed to carry on the hike (more on this later). Plenty of accessories, side pouches were perfect for 1L softside bottles, never got chafing anywhere from back or straps and it works perfectly with the Gregory 3D Hydro 2L system. Only regret would be not having purchased an 18L or 20L so I could take some of my buddy’s stuff when he was struggling…not my problem, but I felt bad I didn’t have that little extra.
Love my Nano 16! Purchased it to use on shorter dayhikes from basecamp during a backpacking trip in Northern Michigan. This was just the right size to roll up and stash in my Deva 60 backpack, while still providing enough space and function when put to use. The Nano 16 fits my large camera, an extra layer, and trail snacks perfectly. I definitely appreciate how comfortable and lightweight yet sturdy it is, and I love the quick-access zipper pocket and the additional loops on the front the extra items as well. Great little pack for cross-country skiing too! Would recommend the Nano 16 for sure!
Gregory makes great packs. I have 4 different Gregory packs. I have 2 Nanos, one for my wife and myself. And I have the Optic 58, and the Octal 40 I believe. The Nano is great for day trips and hikes, whether out on the trail or just walking around town. It will hold a bladder, a jacket or hoodie, some snacks or lunch, water bottles, little bit of gear or whatever.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love these packs! They are perfect for a 3-5 hour hike in the summer. You may want something that can hold a few more things to the winter. I did a ton of research and was between this and the Flash-22, but ultimately decided on this pack because I don't need/want to carry around more than I need. We're 5' and 5' 8" and this fits us both really well. The water bottle pocket can't fit my Camelback 32oz chute bottle, but will fit anything smaller. The colors are not the same as the photo online. All zippers, straps, fabric are very high quality and light. If you're between sizes, 16 L is definitely perfect.
This is my new inline skating/hiking/biking pack to replace my worn-out drawstring bag. It has all the features of my 32L Jansport Agave but in the size of the drawstring bag! The straps feel light and breathable so it does not feel bulky at all. Also the burnished orange color is very sexy. Can't wait to use it more.
Doesn’t come with a water bladder but has the sleeve and holes for one. Holds all the essentials you need for the day without being heavy or too big for a 5’3” woman.
I wore this bag once for a hike and it already has a rip in it I liked the bag but wish it was more durable
