[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just bought this tent and we were so excited about it that we set it up in our living room and camped out inside! Erecting it was challenging because it wasn’t staked down, but we didn’t exactly follow the regular directions. Setup was super easy though and it inflated quickly with not much effort. Everything is sturdy and well constructed. We loved our first Campout in it even if we were in the comfort of our own home. Can’t wait to take it camping outdoors. It is a luxury tent with everything you would need in a place to sleep comfortably outside.
We love this tent. It’s massive inside, but it packs up into a relatively small package. It’s a palace for 2 adults and 2 kids, and the divider affords some privacy. This replaced a Springbar 10x14 tent. It was a pain to dry it and it weighed over 90 lbs. This one packs down to 1/3 of the size and weighs 1/3 as much. We’ve only slept in it for 2 nights so far, so I don’t have comments on long term durability yet. I don’t have leaks fears though. We used it with the Zempire ground sheet and the roof cover to keep it cooler during the day. It seemed to work.
In some ways it is a very nice premium tent and somewhat unique in REI lineup as accommodating 10 ppl. Especially nice were the 3 doors, the rear vestibule, the rain fly coverage and really quiet nice zippers. However on a hot day (5th day of gentle use) , an 8 inch rupture erupted in one of the air poles causing the whole tent to irreparably collapse. This tent is a ton of a material and it is not exaggeration to say it could easily smother a baby inside when this happened. At a minimum it would have traumatized my children if we had been inside when it happened. One thing to consider is that any tent can have faulty support. But if a normal pole snaps, the whole thing doesn't instantly collapse. In this air tent however, a hole anywhere will immediately cause all air poles to basically simultaneously fail. In the case of this massive rupture there was absolutely no hope of repair (in the field or otherwise). While I appreciate the 3 yr nominal warranty, that is rather worthless if your are caught in a storm when this thing collapses on you and your family's head.
We purchased the Aerospeed 10 recently and are extremely happy with it. A key reason we decided on this particular tent was the pack size, as we don't have a large vehicle. We wanted something that would fit in our car and still have space for all the other gear we need to take (we camp with a toddler, and a Labrador!). The Aerospeed 10 packs down to a very portable size but is massive inside, which is great for our situation as its not cramped at al and has a lot of floor space for us to play with our toddler if the weather turns bad. We paired this with a monstabed twin and single for a very luxurious camping setup which takes up minimal space in our vehicle, meaning there is more room for all the other items we need to take on our adventures. The tent was pitched in strong winds and held up extremely well, it is very easy to both set up and pack down thanks to the helpful videos featured on the Zempire YouTube channel. The storage pockets in every corner mean that items like phones, books, sunglasses etc are easily stored and the high ceilings make the space feel extra roomy. We purchased some additional awning poles to give us shelter over the entrance which worked well
I used the Aerospeed 10 for the first time on a Father’s Day weekend daddy–daughter camping trip at an RV park. Setup was very easy to follow — though I had watched a lot of videos ahead of time, the instructions and process were simple. Pumping the tent wasn’t too bad (though I will probably invest in an electric pump for convenience). It was the hottest part of the day during setup, and the ventilation was excellent once the tent was up. The interior space is outstanding — we used the divider so my daughter could have her own “room,” which she absolutely loved. I was surprised to discover that under the fly is a mesh-style roof, which helped with airflow. The tent paired perfectly with the Speedbase 2 gazebo and the connecting link — it really made for a fantastic camping setup. A couple things to keep in mind for future buyers: this tent is large, so make sure you have enough ground space, and be aware that it does need to be staked down (not freestanding). You’ll want soft ground to allow proper staking — not ideal for hard surfaces like concrete or rocky ground. I also wish there were more electrical cord ports and maybe heater/AC duct options like some newer tent models, but that’s just nitpicking. Overall, extremely satisfied — even on the first try, the tent packed back into its bag with no trouble. I would highly recommend the Aerospeed 10 for family car camping or group trips where you have the space and soft ground. It’s an amazing tent for anyone who enjoys comfort and roominess while camping.
I am super happy with our new Aerospeed 10 & Aerobase 3! This is the best tent I have ever owned by miles.... So easy to put up and take down, all setup in no time at all. The only disappointing thing was the weak aluminium pegs which all bent when hammering them, but no big deal. I look forward to when we can get this setup out again!
We recently took the Aerospeed 10 Air Tent from Zempire on a camping trip, and I can confidently say it has completely changed the way we camp! First and foremost, this tent is incredibly lightweight and compact, which made packing a breeze. It fit perfectly in our SUV without taking up too much space, making transport super convenient. Despite its compact size when packed, once set up, it feels incredibly spacious and airy, thanks to its impressive height compared to other tents. The ventilation is fantastic, keeping the interior fresh and breathable – a game changer, especially in warm weather. One of the best things about this tent is how effortless it is to set up and pack away. The air beams inflate quickly, and taking it down is just as easy – no more struggling with poles or complex assembly. It truly takes the stress out of camping and lets you focus on enjoying the outdoors. After using it once, we were already planning our next trip! If I had one small recommendation, it would be to include a wire zipper on the right side as well, since power points at some campsites are positioned on that side rather than the left. Also, having awning poles and guy ropes included would be a great addition, as they are essential for providing shade in hot summer conditions. Overall, the Aerospeed 10 Air Tent is a fantastic investment for anyone who loves camping. It’s spacious, well-ventilated, lightweight, and incredibly easy to use. If you're looking for a tent that makes camping more fun and stress-free, this is it. Highly recommend!
I have had my eye on this tent since it was first introduced. After watching multiple videos, reading reviews and seeing all the different pieces that could form a camping “kit”, I decided it would be the base for my main tent. I am so glad I invested the money! The quality of the tent is impeccable. No loose strings, no missed seams, seam tape everywhere it should be. The floor is stout. The air poles are solid and the overall feel of the tent is strong. Camping out in Oklahoma winds, the tent took 30 mph winds with no issues. The ceiling height is excellent. I am 5’6” and I raised my arms to the full extension in order to touch the ceiling. With two twin size cots in the tent, we still had room for a king size mattress. In fact, it took a few minutes to determine where to situate it on the camp site so that it would fit safely as it will sleep 8 people. It was a palace for two people and a pup. I will say even with watching set-up and take down videos, the set up took a minute. Using the provided pump, it took about 5 minutes to get it up to 14 psi. I would recommend inserting the brow poles at 10 psi when you go into the tent to assist the air poles to stand. I know with practice (and I will admit to purchasing an air pump after the first set up) it should go much faster. I am 60 and of reasonably good health and was able to set it up by myself. The storage area in the back is perfect for a larger plastic tote(s) to store any excess gear. The only complaint I have is that the back door does not have a mesh inner to open in the hot summer months to slow down insects, but I have an idea I will try out during the next camping trip. Overall, this is an awesome tent!
Used for the first time. I was impressed. I thought was gonna be too big, But is a good size for me and my family!
