Can’t say anything bad about the sleeping bag. I went with this bag so I can use it year round. So far I’ve used it in 20-30 degree F weather and had to wear clothing to keep warm (as I expected). Its a nice feature that there are arm vents but I don’t really use them bc I always seem to struggle finding the zippers when Im in the sleeping bag. Also, I found the main zipper seems durable but it gets caught on itself frequently which makes zipping the bag a finicky process. Overall a good bag that shares common issues with other bags of the same price
I love this sleeping bag. As a tall/wide person, I had sought out quilts for more space, but the midline zipper creates enough room for me to comfortably sleep in the wide version of the bag. While it's not as light as a quit, I'm MUCH warmer, and don't need to bring a sleeping bag liner for extra warmth which saves on some ounces. One thing I regret is not opting for the long version. I'm 6ft and while the regular should fit me, the hood is very snug and not in a good way. If I were less girthy, I'd probably have some more headroom, but I think it'd still be better had I sized up.
Warm, comfortable, love the leg space and being able to put my arms out of the slots to read. Genius. Also, love that it zips up for colder nights, nice and light for backpacking too!
I used this bag at Yellowstone NP the week in June just before it snowed. I was wonderfully warm and comfortable
As a side-sleeping backpacker looking for sleep system options that maximize comfort without weighing me down, this was *almost* a great sleeping bag for me. I love the idea of it... focus on comfort, with tons of accessible sizing options. The feel of the material is luxurious in a way that is difficult to describe. It almost has a liquid-like feel to it without the tissue-like crinkliness that a lot of sleeping bags have. The zipper action was smooth. As a side sleeper, I liked the idea of the bag being a comfort-focused, semi-rectangular bag that can cinch in to create a true mummy shape and additional warmth if necessary. The high-viz colors are also dope, especially compared to everything else on the market. The main drawback of this bag is the fill power. The modest 650 fill power means that, relative to its warmth and loft, the bag is heavy and not particularly compressible. An equivalently warm bag or quilt with 750 or 800+ fill power is going to weigh less and pack down smaller. As much as I wanted to keep this bag when I got it, I found it was too heavy and bulky and realized I would never reach for it to stuff into my pack when I have something like my Sea to Summit Ascent available - a bag that is also a comfort-focused, relaxed mummy bag, but in a higher fill power that is much more backpacker-friendly. Of course, the Ascent was also about $100-150 more expensive than the Boost. Which brings me to the real crux of my review: I still think this is a great bag, IF you are in the target market for this product. Because lower fill power = lower cost, and combined with the focus on comfort and wide range of sizing options, this bag is primarily marketed at folks who are newer at camping and looking for a single, affordable, comfort-oriented sleeping bag that can cover all their needs in a variety of conditions. If you're looking for a one and done bag and you are a car camper who occasionally dabbles in backpacking, or otherwise in a position to carry a bit of extra weight and bulk in your kit, this is a great option for you. If you are primarily a backpacker, and especially a lightweight or ultralight backpacker, this is probably not going to be the ideal bag for you.
Great sleeping bag. It's lightweight, but plenty warm. The extra zippers make it easy to regulate temperature. Five stars!
