Excellent fit, form, and function
This is my second pair of Alpina boots purchased over the past decade. Had most recently bought Salomon cross country ski boots for use with both classic and skate skis. Decided to purchase this new pair of Alpina boots to go with my metal edge classic skis to assist with this season's challenging conditions (poor snow coverage and icy). They have the right amount of bulk to ski steep groomed terrain under icy conditions and are not too heavy for ascending said hilly terrain.
Comfortable. Warm.
Comfortable. Easy to get a nice fit. I found them a little warm on a particularly warm (40F and partly sunny) day due to the extra cover that zips over it. that cover is handy if it's cold and deep snow. I don't need it b/c I just use gators when needed. So I'd rather not have that zip cover. I'm a little concerned that the strap at the top with velcro is a failure point in 5 or 10 years.
Comfortable and very warm
Comfortable and warm. They might be a tad warm on a warm 35f day. They have thinsulate and a zip over cover. I prefer to just optionally wear gators if needed rather than have the cover integrated. I've skied up to 8 miles (4h) at a time. My first pair of bacon country boots. Previously had touring boots for about 20 to years.
Alpine Outland
These boots are so comfortable right out of the box. They are easy to bc ski in with out any pressure points. I tried multiple pairs of different brands these and the Solomon were both great right out of the box. I had a hard time deciding between the two brands of boots I picked alpine because of the no show laces and easy on/off with out lacing the boots up! And because they are easy to xc ski in and walk to the trail
