Nice probe
Speed lock works well. Came with a cover.

Your ski buddies will thank you
I love the fact that anyone can dive into my pack and deploy this probe without ever having seen it before. Toss the point downhill (or wind) and pull the handle. Click click and it's ready for use. It's been awhile since I updated my probe. The last one I had took minutes to lock into place. I've always had a metal cable inside and this does not, but it's not like I'm practicing with it enough to wear out the cord. It is a little lighter because of this. Well marked, easy to see depth. Easy and quick to deploy and stow. I'm happy.

Poor durability due to plastic ferrules in the cold
Functional probe with poor durability. The plastic ferrules which connect the probe segments easily break in the cold, and cannot be repaired or replaced. If you intend to frequently use this probe (as you should to practice), consider other manufacturers with more durable designs. I did not have issues with the cord (as opposed to metal) connector, but have longevity concerns for this piece of the design as well.

Chouette
Things I love about this probe: 1. the handle - thoughtfully designed, super easy to grab and pull, clips to the probe and tucks out of the way, 2. the super clear measurement lines, 3. super speedy to use, 4. the size - not too long to fit into a medium/small sized pack, 5. great tradeoff between weight and durability. I have probes from BD, Arva, BCA, and Ortovox as a comparison - this one stands out.

Fragile locking mechanism
I used this probe for avalanche rescue practice and the locking mechanism stopped working after a couple uses. The probe worked well initially; it is easy to deploy, quick to assemble and the markings are very clear. The auto locking mechanism stopped working within an hour of regular use and there is really no way to fix it with out breaking the probe.

Good probe for the price point
Effective, and gets the job done. Locking out the probe is very intuitive and easy with gloves on. However, the probe is not super stiff. I feel that although it did seem to bend more than the carbon version, that during the practice burials it still performed well and didn't deflect too much that it would lead the rescuer to the wrong spot to dig.

Built to last, easy to use
I've been using my Speed Lock probe for two seasons now of recreational backcountry skiing as well as teaching in Level 1 avalanche courses. After the abuse it's taken in these courses combined with the ease and quickness to deploy - it is the avalanche probe I suggest students look at.

So light!
What else can I say? I have an Arva 280 probe that I love, but this thing is so much lighter and skinnier. I am a little worried that it uses a nylon rope instead of wire...but I also feel like that it would be super easy to replace if it does break, so I guess I'm not that worried!

Solid
Haven’t had to use this in an actual rescue scenario (thankfully), only used it during avy training but it is light and durable. The locking mechanism was recommended to me by an avy professional because some of the other mechanisms freeze when they get caked with snow or ice.

Fortunately will never have to use this probe in real time but it deploys easily and breaks down quickly. Only drawback I see so far is the handle itself to deploy the probe, unlike the bca that has a more sturdy handle. But that is nitpicking.
