Been going strong!

I bought one for my wife and one for myself 4 years ago. It’s held up really well and you can barely tell it’s been used (aside from the dirt in the boot compartment). Another reviewer had trouble getting the boots in when it’s full—try laying it down so the boot door faces the ceiling. It’ll be super easy to work with. I put my helmet, goggles, and jacket or pants inside the deep top compartment. Inside the pocket above that is where the gloves and extra socks go. The pocket on the back (furthest from my spine) is where my jacket goes if I don’t put it in the top—or I put snacks in it. In one side pocket, I have a gummi stone, a zardoz, and edge tool. In the other one is a steel water bottle. There is no empty dead space and loading it is easy.

4 years strong.

My wife and I have each been using one of these for four years now. These have been phenomenal! They are durable and really keep the boots isolated from the rest of your gear. A different reviewer said they had issues getting the boots in with a full bag. I would recommend leaning the bag so that the boot door faces the ceiling. That has made it easy 100% of the time. We use our bags pretty full and have never had any dead space in them. I am able to fit boots, pants, a coat, another coat/layer, two pairs of gloves, a helmet, goggles, some ski tools, a water bottle and a bunch of snacks in mine. There is no dead space, but it is not cramped. I would highly recommend this bag!

Poor design

Bags like this where the boot compartment is in the center are not well-designed bags in my opinion. For this bag, the largest non-boot compartment sits on top of the boot compartment, which makes it annoyingly awkward to get your boots into the bag if there's anything in the top compartment. You have to pull up on the top of the bag to get the boots in. The boot compartment is made to accommodate big boots, but that can leave a lot of empty space in the center of the bag if you have average-to-small sized boots (I have 26.5s). My boot compartment tends to get dirty (since I walk in my boots) and I don't end up putting anything else in with the boots since it's dirty. That leaves a lot of space in this pack that doesn't get used. Maybe I'm missing something, but I feel like whoever designed this bag doesn't actually ski that much 🤦

Well designed, not so well built

In all fairness this could deserve 3.5 stars. It is well designed and well thought out, it just does not feel like it will hold up. I use a boot bag 2-4x per week, from Nov-April so it gets a workout. I like the pockets on this, plenty of room for everything and it carries well. Much better than the ol Transpack style bags. It's the quality I question. The material is a bit thin and the zippers are not YKK, definitely a cheap knock off. The cost was reasonable at $115, so decent value even if I only get a year out of it, just really wish it were made better. Yes, then it would be $215, but would last and I would smile when I picked it up. And no vents or drain holes for bottom of boot compartment.
