Absolutely LOVE these boots! True to size. VERY comfortable. Also very warm insulation with secure footing in the snow and slush of what has been an excessive northern Michigan winter! My coil style ice cleats fit on the sole no problem. My first ever pair of Merrell's. Zero drawbacks. Zero complaints. I needed something "less" than my tall Sorels but "more" than my tie-up ankle height "work boot" style non-insulated winter boot. These are the perfect "in between" for my needs. Have worn them often so I could give a valid review. I rarely take the time to write a product review but these boots have earned a 5-star rating. I risked my size going out of stock waiting for a sale and it was worth it. The price has gone down another $10 since I ordered. Get yourself a pair now - you won't regret it.
These boots are very comfortable and warm for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking in snow. The toe box has ample room for all my toes. The only problem is that one of the lacing hooks has come out of the boot, making it difficult to tie the laces properly.
I wore this hiking boot, with 1/2 size up, with thick socks to Iceland, Finland, Norway, and Banff. Warm and comfortable for doing a lot of walking and hiking in cold, rain and wind. Did protect the ankles too. I ordered a second pair as backup for my next trip, but I still have the old one. Wish there are brighter color choices.
I bought these about a week ago there's the best decision ever I had knee replacement surgery last winter and wearing these boots have helped me tremendously with my Mobility with being able to walk without a cane for the first time they're so supportive very comfortable lots of cushioning well worth the price
Mine are worn volunteering at the Detroit Zoo. I get between 4- 6 miles a shift. First day was rough, added an orthotic (wear orthotics with all my shoes) and no more issues! My feet feel good, my ankles are supported. Yay!
I bought these to snowshoe with. I had other boots that worked fine once in the snowshoe but I slipped all over the place until I could strap them on. These are much more grippy. I can get from my car to the trail over the parking lot ice without slipping and sliding all over the place. Slippery areas are still going to be slippery, but these have a ton more traction than my others. These also do not give me any blisters and they keep my feet warm the entire time...usually 3-4 miles.
I've been trying to find good 'intermediate' boots for snowshoeing for over a year. I bought several pairs and returned them all. These are exactly what I was looking for. They are waterproof, warm, and have stiff enough uppers for cinching down snowshoe bindings. They also have great tread and decent edging ability on hard, steep snow when not using snowshoes. They're much lighter and less expensive than technical mountaineering boots, which were the only other good option I could find.
I bought these boots this winter to replace my favorite winter boots which were also Merrell's. Wasn't sure as the new boots look bulkier than my older ones and had a difference boot base. It is -15 degrees, I have a large yard with 18" of snow. Today I put on the boots, shoveled my way to the three different bird feeding stations to restock feeders. Feet were Never cold, these boots are lighter than the old ones but stabler and easy to walk in. I am thrilled.
I am new to Tennessee and not used to the cold weather as I moved from southern Ca. We got our first snow fall a few weeks ago and I realized I needed some better footwear, as my feet were freezing. These boots are great, kept my feet warm and dry and have great traction in snow, and are very comfortable. I liked them so much I bought 3 more pairs for my wife and parents. These are my first Merrell’s but I will definitely purchase again.
