Giro Tenet Mips Snow Helmet
For all-mountain pursuits, the Giro Tenet Mips snow helmet has advanced protective tech and a hybrid construction to deliver the lightness of an in-molded lower and durability of a hard-shell upper.
- Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (Mips®) has 3 main components: the interior foam liner, the low-friction liner and an elastomeric attachment system between them
- In an angled impact, the elastomeric attachment stretches to allow the foam liner to rotate independently around your head; the goal is to further reduce rotational forces
- In Form 2 Fit System is lighter and lower-profile than the original; it is easier to dial in a custom fit in seconds—even with gloves on
- An improved dial design provides up to 6 cm of adjustment plus enhanced stability
- Thermostat Control Adjustable Venting allows you to custom-tune airflow instantly with a simple, low-profile control button on the outside of the helmet
- Vertical tuning accommodates different goggles and head shapes for a custom fit free of gaper gap
- Pure silver is the secret ingredient that gives the breathable IONIC+® fleece interior the power to provide natural odor protection to keep your helmet feeling fresh
- Certification: CE EN1077

Very high quality, lots of adjustment.
This is a great helmet and I’d highly recommend it. It has a very versatile fit with lots of adjustments. Although the price is on the higher side I truly believe this product would last for a very long time. The adjustment dial on the back of the helmet is a very good design.
This helmet…
I love it. Awesome helmet with high-end looks and premium feel. Looking it over, I get an impression of excellent design and build quality. Putting it on…fit comfort is very good. I use over-the-glasses (OTG) goggles which fit over my prescription eyeglasses and are larger than standard goggles. The combination of helmet + goggles + eyeglasses is snug but is still comfortable. Everything stays securely in place without any bouncing or slipping. Style-wise, It has a modern look, a slightly futuristic sci-fi style which looks nice and sleek. Makes me think of ‘Dune’. Love the color (Matte Dark Shark), which is a handsome matte blue grey as it matches with pretty much anything. Features that i liked include:- Dial-in adjustable fit. Dial has a rubber texture which is good with gloves. The adjustable fit works well and is comfortable. Sliding tab that opens or closes air vents to adjust level of venting works great. Cushy chin guard. Lining incorporates odor protection. Also removable for cleaning. Earpads are earphone compatible? Might be useful. Feature that could be better:- An upgrade to one of those new buckles that magnetically snap together would be nice.
Comfortable, warm, sturdy.
I used this helmet on my most recent ski trip in Michigan, it’s was warm, comfortable, and easily adjusted to my head. I’m a decent skier so I did not suffer any major collisions with the helmet but it felt secure on my head and moving it side to side the MIPS seemed to function properly. When I was skiing and my head became too hot the vents did a decent job at the top to cool it down. I liked that I could open and close the vents easily without having to take the helmet off. The chin strap was comfortable and easily adjustable. I like the color of the helmet as well, went well with my red white and blue theme.
A very comfortable snow helmet
I really like this helmet! The style is great, everything feels high quality and durable, and it’s super comfortable. I got the “dark shark” color, which is gray but maybe a little more blue than in the photo. It’s lightweight and warm, I really didn’t notice it much while skiing, which I guess is what you want from a helmet. The liner is soft and the chin strap is also comfortable. The helmet is adjustable both with the dial on the back, and the “vertical tuning” setting from inside. You can open and close some of the vents to regulate temperature, and the ear pads are removable (they also have pockets for headphones). It also comes with a fabric drawstring bag for storage. For sizing information, my head circumference is 23” (right on the edge of medium and large) so I ordered the large hoping to accommodate a fleece balaclava. I think I would have preferred a medium. Even with the dial at its tightest setting, the large is slightly loose. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this helmet.
A Helmet Where Safety and Style Meet!
I absolutely love this helmet. Had the chance to use it a couple times before writing this review. I wanted to be sure the “honeymoon” stage wasn’t blinding me to any potential flaws. Below are a few key features that really make this a great choice. -Venting system makes it super breathable when you need it! -The In-Form 2 Fit made it super easy to get a nice snug fit within seconds. -Fit great with multiple different pairs of goggles I tried. -I didn’t find that I felt as much “helmet fatigue” with this helmet. Super comfortable. -Solid build construction. Definitely feels like it’ll last and protect me against collisions, falls or other potential hazards. -Lastly, it’s a great looking helmet. Obviously protection is the number one priority and tvis helmet provides both safety and style. I really don’t think you’ll be disappointed with this choice. If it were lost or stolen then I’d be replacing it with the exact same helmet!
Lightweight Luxury
Like skiing naked! Or actually, with a naked head! Seriously, this helmet fits so well & rides so effortlessly, I forget I'm even wearing it. First--the padding. It's soft, but substantial feeling. The nap of the fabric is velvety-smooth, feels fancy, and doesn't stick to my hair. This means, when I remove the helmet, my hair doesn't get stuck on the padding and pulled forward with the friction. Hallelujah! The weight--it's fairly lightweight ounce-wise, but still substantial feeling. Though it's not the most ultralight helmet on the market, it still feels weightless when worn due to the fit, padding and meticulous construction. Adjustability/Fit--my favorite detail! The fit can be dialed in perfectly via the large, easy-to-use, dial in back. Once dialed in, it doesn't loosen back up inconveniently while you're out on the slope. Also, I can adjust the helmet to fit snuggly, without any movement, and then leave it there for hours without ever feeling "the squeeze". And huge bonus--the dial is easy to operate while wearing my bulky mittens. I have Raynaud's, so sometimes wear really big mittens. Being able to adjust the fit (and ventilation on the top) without taking off my mitts is pretty important for me. One thing to keep in mind while wearing the helmet is to be mindful when you want to lift your goggles away from your face. If you don't get them hooked on the little visor lip, they may flop around on the top of your helmet. This isn't a big deal, and common with helmets that have the visor lip. In the photos, you may be able to see this. I'm wearing my daughter's goggles (don't ask!) in the photos, but even wearing these goggles that are a bit small for me, they still sit fine when I push them up and hook them on the lip. I have a medium-sized woman's head, and wear a medium helmet. For the perfect fit with this helmet, I have the dial right about in the middle--so very true to size. Highly recommend for skiing, snowboarding or really any snow sport where you want head protection.
Fits well, has kept me warm during this cold snap!
So far I have enjoyed using this helmet. It has been incredibly cold this winter since the snow has been around and my head has been staying pretty warm while wearing it for my winter adventures. I usually have used a size small helmet historically but I am currently using a size medium in this helmet and find it acceptable but would benefit from some material (a base layer hat/balaclava) for both extra warmth and would make the fit even better. Luckily I have not yet had any accidents or falls so can't speak to how it works in terms of that but would definitely recommend it for a cold weather adventure!
Loved Giro Mips Snow Helmet
The Giro Mips Snow Helmet was tried while skiing at Mount Baker the weekend of 2/15/2025. The helmet is a meduim which did not fit me. A friend tried it with a perfect fit with the pump-type adjustment button on the rear of the helmet. He found the helmet allowed goggles to fit without obstruction by the helmet, the cushioning was comfortable especially at the ears. With a snug fit, it safely stayed in place when falling on the slope, and provided added warmth from the insulation in the helmet. The matte dark color was attractive as well.
Safety and Comfort
I don't think you can go wrong with the GIRO brand. This helmet was comfortable and warm. I love the adjustment that you can make very easily by twisting the knob on the back to tighten or loosen to my exact comfort level. The material that does touch skin like the ear pads was so soft. The chin strap also has a padded piece but its affixed to the strap and the way I was wearing the helmet it didn't cover my left jaw. The vent port was easy to open and close but I tend to just leave it open all the time.
Great Mips Helmet that focuses on comfort and fit.
I recently used the Tenet Mips Snow helmet in tree lines and heavy snow conditions. The helmet's ample protective design provided a lot of security in the conditions. The strap and adjustable crown clamp provided a very secure fit. The visor lip above the brow proved incredibly helpful to divert water dripping from snow accumulation on goggles but is a bit odd when trying to place goggles up on the helmet. There was enough insulation that the warmer parts of riding were comfortable with/without an additional hat, but venting was a bit limited on hotter runs. The negative was these were difficult to adjust on the fly while gloved, when getting it dialed in on the slope. The ear pads were a little uncomfortable in their fit when trying to also accommodate earphones, but not unlike many other helmets I've used. The goggle The Mips doesn't make the helmet too large and the styling was a good mix of effective and minimalist.
