The helmet is very light. Mostly comfortable. The micro-adjustable dial fit system doesn't tighten circumferentially, it just pushes your forehead into the front of the helmet. There is no real airflow control. Pretty cold on the forehead. The zipper for audio placement is difficult to open and close. It unzips left to right, which for my audio system, means it has to be completely unzipped to charge the system. Kind of a pain.
Very nice fitting adjustable dial fit helmet and very lightweight. After three big impacts on the back of the head on separate occasions within a month of owning this helmet, the plastic that tightens around your head with the dial fit snapped in half. With a closer look, I feel like its a design flaw (especially for the price you're paying) that they designed the plastic that shapes around your head to be extremely thin and flimsy. I went ahead and bought the regular method mips as it is much more thicker and sturdier, and still fits comfortably without the precision dial fit.
This Smith Method Pro MIPS helmet is amazing! The reason that I bought this helmet is because of all the great reviews and studies I read on impact protection. I am one that prefers function over form. However, this helmet accomplished both. The fit is perfect and the helmet really looks great in the military green color that I bought it in. It is light on the head and comfortable to wear, with no pressure points when worn all day. It works well with my goggles and keeps my ears warm. I don’t know what else I can ask from a ski helmet!
Good helmet, although I would say the zipper allowing access to where you put a headset is lacking in quality. Additionally the adhesive used to secure the foam padding for the headset failed making it hard to position the headset. The adhesive must have failed during manufacturing because they first time I accessed the area was weeks several months after purchasing. Otherwise, it fits okay and serves my needs.
I've had two of these helmets. The first one got a large crack in the back after hitting my head on the snow, but I didn't get a concussion. I've slammed my head pretty hard a few times in the second one, as well, but every time I've been completely fine. I just got a big dent after a hard hit, so I will be replacing it again. I am amazed at how well this helmet has protected me.
The sizing on this product is horrendous. Medium is too big, it is loose under full tighten and small is way too small. The size recommendations should overlap. Also, who still makes a "beanie compatible" helmet? What a joke. Make a helmet for those who actually wear them not those who are too cool and still need their beanie on all the time. Please return this product.
Bought this helmet at the beginning of the 25/26 season and the goggle strap holder snapped off at the beginning of March. Unfortunate for such a costly product. Outside of that issue I wasn't impressed with the "removeable" liner. Felt the helmet became very uncomfortable without it and it was a hassle to remove and place back in.
I got this helmet late last year in replacement of my maze helmet . This thing is huge and the small is too small. I adjusted the boa as tight as it can go and it still is loose but I also have smith goggles and these don’t sit flush I look like a Jerry. Verydisappointed and unfortunately too late to return .
Just received the helmet; seems to be of good quality and a good replacement for my Smith Maze that has taken quite a beating with no concussion/brain injuries. Love the mips. The tailored temporal part dips in a bit and puts a bit of pressure, so maybe not the best fit if you have a big head.
I picked this up for my first time snowboarding and am very thankful to not have gotten a concussion after a gnarly wipe out. The helmet looks cool, is adjustable with the dial on the back, comfortable/lightweight, and I appreciated how well it integrated with my Smith goggles.
