Excellent travel pillow!
This thing has proven its value in short time. I recently brought this along on a three night Sierra Nevada backpacking trip and it was a major upgrade over my typical stuff sack filled with clothes. At 6 ozs. it’s definitely not for the ultralight crowd, but it’s a no-brainer “luxury item” for anyone who values a good nights rest. The pillow case material is soft to the touch, warm, and comfortable. As a side sleeper, I like how I can dial in the firmness level to my liking and it doesn’t deflate even after multiple nights of use. I also used it in the hotel room since I’m a little weird about germs and I like how this can be easily cleaned. Haven’t used it on a flight yet, but this will be great carry-on addition.
Easy to inflate, lightweight and comfy air pillow!
I tested the pillow leaving it filled for a week. There was minimal leakage thanks to the internal valve. It inflates quickly and is comfortable and warm (better for winter). Thickness is more like 4” than listed 5”
Large and convenient car camping pillow
This pillow is nice and big and well made. It's easy to inflate and deflate with a well designed valve. I like how the cover comes off for cleaning and repairs. The cover itself is high quality and is light but feels nice on the skin. It packs nicely to about the size of 1l water bottle. It's too big for extended backpacks but it'll be useful for car camping or 1-2 night backpacks. The first time I used it I fully inflated it and it was WAY too firm for my taste. The second night I let a bunch of air out and it was better. I think I'll probably layer a sleeve or some extra clothes over it to give it more softness the next time I use it.
Smart and high end camp pillow
I should first say that this pillow is not as comfortable as a regular pillow, but I don't think that is (or even should be) the expectation. But for a travel/camping pillow option, it has a lot going for it. While inflating it is a little awkward, it's quick and easy and you don't need to worry about a pump. When I tested it, it held air well and was large enough that I could move around throughout the night without "falling off" of it. I recommend not filling it completely; it did strain my neck the first time I used it, but once I removed air to about a 50-60% fill, it was much more supportive. Major bonus points for the removal, washable shell! All in all, if I have the space to bring my regular pillow camping, I probably still will; but if I need to save room or am traveling light, this is a much smarter option than any camp pillow I've used in the past.
Great pillow but on the loud side
There is a lot to like about this pillow, but I think there is one drawback that might be a deal.breaker for some, and for others. Let's start with the positives shall we: - This thing is light, my calibrated scale has it coming in at 203g with the case on it. That's 57g less than what is stated on the packaging. - It's very packable, you know the items that once they're out of their original bag/case they can never stuff back in? This isn't one of those, it rolls right up and you can throw it anywhere. - The one-way valve is incredible. 3 deep breathes and the pillow is inflated to a comfortable level. 4 deep breaths and this pillow is fully inflated and there is no discernable air leaking back out when filling. I wish every valve was like this. - The pillow is soft, warm and comfy. It feels nice on the skin. Now for the drawbacks: - It's a bit loud. The pillow is crinkly, and while I didn't mind it, if you have a partner or camping buddy it's loud enough they can hear it and they might not like it. I don't think it's any louder than the rustle of a sleeping bag, so I did not mind but it is something to point out and my camping buddy noticed it immediately.
almost wonderful
The pillow came in a very quality packaging and it was very soft to the touch as well as easy to blow up. I had high hopes after a quick test at home. However, after using the pillow for a night, it did not hold the air. I was testing the product while camping last weekend in North Georgia and I ended up jumping ship to go back to using my old one. The size of the pillow was spot on and the shape was really ergonomic so it was disappointing that it didn't hold up.
Extremely comfy
This pillow is sooo comfy! It's pretty easy to adjust the firmness by inflating it a little more or less. The cover fabric is honestly softer than I was expecting. It's luxuriously large for solo use but if you're snuggled up you can share. It folds up into a conveniently small bundle. It's lightweight. The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is that the shape of the valve could be a little more comfortable to blow into to inflate it. This is going to be an extremely worthwhile step up from using a wadded up puffy!
Space saving comfortable pillow
As someone used to sleeping on my wadded up jacket as a pillow when camping, this product is already a luxury. Unfortunately, I received this pillow after our last planned camping trip of the season, so I had to test it out in different ways. I slept on the pillow in my bed at home and found it just as comfortable and supportive of my neck as my foam pillow. The material was soft enough to sleep on without a separate cover. The air stayed in the pillow for several days without needing to add more air. I also found the pillow incredibly useful for a trip on an airplane with my kids. As it packs down well, I could easily take it on my carry-on. Once I blew it up and placed it on my lap, my 3 year old slept for the entire plane ride. This pillow makes the most since for people camping or traveling without pets who also need to save space.
This pillow is so worth it
I freaking love this pillow. I’m a side sleeper and usually need two pillows but I sleep comfortably with just this one. I use it camping, laying around on the beach or at a park, and on the plane. Definitely didn’t anticipate using it for anything other than camping but it’s comfy and easy to pack. Nice and soft. The crinkly sound is minor and doesn’t bother me.
Couldn’t find a comfortable sweet spot
I really wanted to like this pillow but I just couldn’t find a sweet spot with it. I tried all different levels of inflation from hard to soft but could not get a comfortable night’s sleep. It is large and I suspect for me that was an issue because it would barely fit inside the pillow sleeve in my Nemo bag even with a low to medium inflation. Tried using it outside the pillow sleeve and still found it to be uncomfortable. Your mileage may vary but I’m hoping I can return it.
