Small and hold a lot.
I stopped at REI here in Anchorage Alaska, and brought in my huge down parka thats graded to -65 below zero. I asked the gentleman in the backpack area if there was a stuff sack that this parka can fit into. He grabbed a 15 liter size stuff sack and i'm said, "No way, can my parka fit into that tiny bag!" It did. I was impressed! In fact, I ended up buying a couple more stuff sacks. These bags are so light weight and thin material, that I was concern they would be strong enough to hold anything. The price I found very reasonable.
Does the job, heavy material
Use this (15L) to store my mountaineering down parka. It fits perfectly with a little room and packs down well. I think the material (specifically the compression parts) is a little heavier than it needs to be be, but this is a very inexpensive compression sack so can't really complain.
REI > Sea To Summit
Since these hit the market, sea to summit hasn’t even been a consideration for me. The price point is more than fair, it feels high quality, and doesn’t have any twisting issues like I’ve had on StS compression sacks. My ONLY gripe is that the material feels thin, I’d be worried to putting anything rigid inside the bag as it may tear. Do note, I have NOT had any these tear yet, but I do not put rigid things in my bags.
Good item to save space in your pack!
I got this to stuff my 20 degree TNF bag into, and it just barely fits. I really have to cram it in, and then it only compresses a bit more. I don't say that as a criticism of the bag, because it does force my sleeping bag into a much smaller space. Before it would take up a good deal of my backpack, and this successfully shrinks it down. If anything it has reinforced my desire to upgrade to a quilt. Glad I bought it.
LOVE THESE
A friend introduced me to REI's stuff sacks and I am OBSESSED. I use them for backpacking, camping, and normal travel. I have them in 3 sizes now and the biggest is great for down layers and sweatshirts while the smallest works for socks and underwear.
Still no delivery
I’d live on review but still have not received these items
Great Size for Bag
Used to compress a 650 Goose Down sleeping bag to 1/2 the size….
Great compression stuff bag
This compression stuff sack was bought for use with a standard Big Agnes sleeping bag. The bag specs said it compressed down to 9.5 liters. I purchased the 15 liter stuff bag, and the sleeping bag just fit. When compressed, the size was reduced by 1/3, which was my target. Can't attest to durability yet, but it looks very promising.
More room needed
After a "live chat" with REI staff I decided to purchased this item. I purchased to stuff my older Kelty Light Year 3D sleeping bag. My new Sierra Designs Flex Capacitor 40-60 backpack has limited space for my older equipment and compressing the sleeping bag created more room.
