Good But could be better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only used it on 2 Plane Flights (one long connecting to a short one) last week. So just initial impressions. I inserted a Lexan sheet to add more firmness to the bottom as that was a critique I saw before the purchase. It helped but it still sags when loaded to airline max. I like the overall lightness - So it does not "steal"from my airline weight limit. Biggest criticism = Should be a 2nd Strap(simple wide web style) for the top because the backpack style strap would be easily damaged if left on the bag when checked with airline. Would make lifting the fully loaded bag much easier. I've got many more flights upcoming before heading home. So we'll see.

The lightness if unlike any other

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this bag for lightness and strength. We are going to Africa and can only bring 44 pounds total and all together. This only weighs about 4 pounds and the soft sides will insure that it will fit in a tiny airplane. There are compartments that will be nice and a smaller black bag that could fit shoes. The wheels works as good as expected. Our only goal was light weight and it doesn't have a retractable handle, but this fits our need, so we are satisfied. I just ordered one more. We have the black and glad to try the blue-green bag next. We also ordered light weight back packs to hold personal items while on safari.

There's probably a better option elsewhere

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good concept but poor execution. The bag has a tendency to tip off its wheels if not perfectly aligned, but worse is how the wheels roll toward you if you hold the handle too high, which causes the end of the bag to drag across concrete resulting in holes after only 2 weeks use. And don't try the warranty b/c that's just a marketing gimmick - the US said I need to talk to Australia, and Australia said talk to the NZ retailer about a replacement, and the NZ retailer had none in stock, so at this dead end I bought Tenacious Tape (nylon) to fix the weaker kevlar (polyester) of the bag. Disappointing experience.

Was expecting more from Eagle Creek…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s 1 large capacity area with only 1smaller pocket on 1 end. Packing cubes are a must to keep gear organized. Handle for using the wheeled option is hard on your hands for any distance. Airlines are rough on any bag and this 1 is no exception. After only 1 overseas trip there is a small tear near the wheels. A hard plastic base would work better than fabric. Backpack strap option impractical without a hip belt for support. Years ago I had an Eagle Creek backpack was very happy with its quality. It held up better to the airlines too. I was expecting better quality packing convenience options.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used it for a very first time on my trip to Germany. It kept toppling over and difficult to maneuver. Once I made it to my hotel, I noticed little holes on the bottom, where I think it rubbed on the ground. I’ll have to look into how to get it repaired or replaced once I get back home on the 21st.

Sounds like a bag with a frame would be more conducive for your long distance travels. Our customer service team will reach out and help you with the next steps!

If you’re a mariner or like to travel, you need this bag!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a professional mariner and I needed a piece of luggage for work that was durable, well-made, lightweight, and roomy, and this bag is perfect! It holds more than I need for a month (or more) away at work, is incredibly durable and holds up to air travel, and easy to carry up gangways and ladderwells thanks to the many exterior handles and straps. I also love how it can be rolled up small and stored in a drawer or its original carrying bag. I was able to fit all my clothes, personal care items, and a full sheet set with a comforter in this bag with room for more things. Super convenient! Before I bought this bag I was using a hard sided samsonite bag that deteriorated very quickly. I am so happy with this purchase!

Shiney Duffell - no bag structure support, and it's got a shiney latex finish.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn't expecting the surface to be so shiney, I was thinking it would be more of a canvas material, it was so hard to see how slick and shiney it was on the photos. Was also a little dissappointed that the wheel end of the bag and the bottom long side of the bag don't have any stiffening or structure - I have had to insert metal wiring frames to stiffen them up to hold my loads. NOT the bag I was expecting. Good quality and craftsmanship but this is a duffle - the photos make it look more sturdy. And less shiney. it looks like latex.

Good bag, not the “silver bullet,” though

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is a great bag! Very durable and versatile. It needs support along the long axis of the bag for it to roll correctly, either by filling it up or packing it with 4-piece fly fishing rods in their cases. There are plenty of handles, but no dufflebag-style handle, which makes lifting this large bag a bit awkward using just one hand, but the other handles make it a natural two-handed lift. I bought the tan, which is nice for many reasons, but the airport luggage belts leave black scuff marks…it will look like an “experienced” bag after your first airline trip! It seems a bit smaller than our No Matter What 110L bag. This could be an illusion because this rolling bag is likely wider and taller when it packs out, but my first reaction was that it was smaller than I expected it to be.

Perfect gear bag for air travel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this bag to pack all of my camping equipment for an out of state Ragnar Trail Relay. It was large enough to fit my sleeping bag, pad, blanket, and much much more. It was so easy to wheel around the airport as well. I also love that it folds up small to store. The only downside to this bag is that the underside is not waterproof/resistant and a lot of my gear got wet when our tent flooded. If only the bottom was made with the same material as the top/sides it would be a dream!

I borrowed this bag in

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I borrowed this bag in a smaller size from a friend and loved it. Fits a ton of stuff and folds up to nothing. I am living in a tiny place in another country, I throw it in my other suitcase when going to the US and stock up on things to bring back. It takes up no space to store. I am considering getting another, and definitely going to buy as a gift for family that come to visit. Just note 130L if full, will most likely weigh over the 50lb luggage max for most airlines.
