works in the arctic circle
So I work on the north slope in Alaska as a NDE inspector (I shoot gamma radiation at pipe and tell them if the welds pass code). I constantly have to move film and use a belt, bungee etc. I was having to take my gloves off everytime I had to do something and I burned my fingers from the frigid temperatures and well metal pipe don’t mix. It is -52 right now and I am using these gloves and not once have I had to take them off to grab something. I will edit in about a month for the durability portion but so far these are LEGIT
Great gloves without the bulk perfect for MN.
I work for a telco company doing installs and repairs, had a pair of these and loved them. After stupidly grabbing a hot drill bit i screwed up my old pair (entirely my fault). After 2 years hiding in the warm working from home im back in the field and just picked up another pair. Great fit for me, very warm and windproof and still easy to use while i work.
Does not keep fingers warm
I was looking for new cold weather gloves to replace my old ones. These had my fingers red And freezing at 27°. I do not recommend.
Good, not Great
I was looking for a warm glove that isn’t bulky for riding my bike in cold Minnesota winters. These gloves were adequate, but I am underwhelmed by the warmth factor. They are not as windproof as I expected. Wearing them in temps 30°+ was ok, but zero to mid 20’s not so good. I had to put my handlebar covers/mittens on the bike.
Dissapointed
Honestly, they seem well made but fail to keep my hands warm. A week before i purchased these, I had to get a pair of gloves at 6:00AM before a hike in 24°. I got a cheap $10.00 pair at 7-11 which, are not as well made but performed incedibly well. Very disappointed in tjis REI product.
Harder to get on but fantastic otherwise
They are exactly what I needed in a glove, warm but not too bulky. They fit great once on my hands but getting them on my hands was a little difficult. I might recommend a size up if you plan to use liners.
Freezing fingers
These are not “extreme weather” gloves. As other reviewers have said, your fingers freeze after ten minutes in cold (32 degree) weather. They are very expensive and are a waste of money.
Worthless
Absolutely worthless below 25f and wind. Seams where clasp are sewn split after two wearing. Dont waste your money, way overpriced for what you get.
Not for cold weather
The gloves didn’t keep my fingers comfortable, in fact they got numb, cold and red in 30F degree temperatures. I was hurting.
Size mismatch
The gloves are smaller than their size indicates. An XL is basically a medium.
