A truly superior tire. Performs very well both on and off-road. I have been riding the 40mm variant for just over a year and I have yet to find a better tire for the money. My primary use for this tire has been on my daily commuter (~90% of use), with some weekend gravel rides (~10% of use). With a combined system weight around 230 pounds (bike, gear, and rider), I have been getting close to 2000 mi out of a rear tire, and a little over 6000 miles from a front tire. I find these tires run a little wider than 40mm when installed on my bike (this can certainly vary from wheel to wheel/tubeless vs. inner tube). I have been running these tubeless on 25mm internal rim width wheels, ~35-40 psi, and the overall width of the installed tire comes in closer to 42mm than 40mm (not a issue for me personally - but I understand some folks out there really care about that kind of thing, especially when frame clearance may be a concern). Overall, I am very pleased by the durability and ride qualities of this tire.
The Gravel King Slick tires in 700C X 40mm are super smooth, lightweight and cushy. They are perfect for touring and commuting. Highly recommended.
I read Reddit reviews about this tire being tight but decided to try since they’re highly regarded for rolling resistance. Mistake. Couldn’t get even one onto Bontrager carbon rim using both tire levers. If I took them to the shop and had them put on, I’d be screwed if I ever got a flat. Had to use both tire levers to get enough gap to pry the 2nd side off the rim. Ridiculously tight.
