Not exactly as marketed
Nice enough bag, but the web description is incorrect in two details, both of which are important to me. First, there is NO water bottle holder. Second, the packaging is marked in two places as weighing 1.41 pounds (confirmed by my luggage scale), NOT the 1.2 pounds listed on the web page. I purchased this for an upcoming trip with carry-on restrictions, both number and weight, so an extra 18% in weight and no bottle space become big deals. Basically, it's a nice enough bag, but REI mislead me and wasted my time.

Zips Up With Difficulty
I like the color scheme of the gold with green accents and orange straps. It looks much better in person than in pictures. But this duffel has a fatal flaw: its main zipper is very difficult to close. It won't make the turns. It is also a small bag. Good enough for a weekend trip maybe. Back it goes.

Great Bag

This is a great little travel bag / sports bag for the gym. Enough space to pack for a 24 / 48 hr trip. Lots of pockets to store a variety of things, which I love in a bag. The large main area is opened by the U shaped zip allowing full access. Perfect for finding sports kit or clothing on a weekend away. Would fit under an airplane seat - if not rammed full. The handles and rucksack straps are great for carrying on both shoulders / one shoulder or by hand. It folds in half and stores flat when not in use. Could also put in a suitcase and use on day trips / over nighters or bringing extra things home. Love the mustard colour way, stands out from all the bags. Great quality as you would expect and well worth the money. Definitely recommend.

Big carryon

If you want a carryon that uses all the capacity of big bags and no weight limits that many transatlantic flights offer, this is the one. I've taken mine on three 2 week horseback riding vacations, I can fit my helmet, boots, chaps, water shoes, 3 sets of jodhpurs, 2 sets of jeans, waterproofs, swimwear, big steal bottle, tech and enough tops and underwear, toiletries etc in this and the older version of the daylite 18l backpack for the trip. All I have to buy is sunscreen because of liquid rules, oh and I'm 6ft tall, so none of that gear is tiny either. It's also a great weekend/ gym bag, lightweight and easy to pack, but I bought it for the carryon capacity and it delivers it can be a sneeze over if you really bulge it out, but triple checking with a tape measure means it's never been an issue. I've not tried to take it on a strict European flight though.

Jack of all trades, master of none

This bag tries to do too many things, and doesn't do any of them well. It tries to be a duffle bag, but it doesn't have a shoulder strap, and the loose ends of the adjustable straps dangle annoyingly. It tries to be a backpack, but there is not enough padding and structure to be comfortable on the back. This can be slightly improved by ensuring to fill the top of the bag with something big and soft, but that takes up valuable space. I want my water bottle accessible, so I put it on top, but then the shape of the bottle digs into my back uncomfortably through the fabric. I also agree with other reviews that the zippers can be challenging to navigate around the corners. It is a good quality bag, but the functionality leaves a lot to be desired. It does fit under airplanes seats fairly well even though it is technically larger than airline personal item guidelines.

Roomy, beautiful colors, and I

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Roomy, beautiful colors, and I like that it functions as a backpack for getting through airports and other travel venues. Lots of pockets to organize your stuff. One criticism: The main compartment zipper is very hard to work, due to the right angles it must negotiate. Soap on it helps a little, but it’s not a great design.

Nice bag overall that is

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice bag overall that is hindered by a suboptimal handle design. It’s fine except for when you want it to hang over one shoulder as a duffle bag. The bag sits too high on your shoulder and always slides down requiring you to always carry with a hand.

I was truly disappointed to

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was truly disappointed to find that there was no external pocket for a water bottle, even though the website still listed that it was a feature. The new inside pocket is nice though. And the colors were pretty so we decided to keep it.

Perfect for what I need

The bag is a great size for me (F 5'3). I like how it folds to be small if I want to pack it in a larger bag. The material feels great and the inside is spacious. I could easily fit 4-6 days of clothes in here depending on my needs!
