Perfect Ice climbing / uphill ski glove
Really stoked on this glove. The fit is great and lets you be pretty dexterous while climbing for tying knots etc. The dwr on the softshell works well in light precip, but as you'd expect, hours of wet snow or overflow on the ice will still wet them out. It seems like an ideal thickness of insulation for most high output activities like ski touring, xc skiing or climbing, without being too sweaty. If it goes below 0F then i need to wear something warmer, or if i am not moving then I throw on the mercury mitts. Durability on these has been incredible! 20 pitches of ice and 20 bc ski days and these still look new!

Versatile and comfortable softshell glove
Great lightweight glove suitable for spring ski missions, the winter up-track, or as a liner under a shell for medium cold days. I had a pair that lasted for many years, and finally were torn by a poorly executed (by me) crampon donning. After looking around at all the other options, these still seem like the best, so I bought them again. Excellent wind resistance, dexterity, and feel. I love the full leather palm. They're not really water resistant at all (but not billed as such). Indispensable for shoulder season backpacking or chilly morning/winter runs. The only thing that I could list as a downside is that the cuffs are long enough to hit a wristwatch and bunch a little. Not a big deal.
I loved them, but...
These gloves were exactly what I was looking for, had the look and feel I wanted, except for one thing. I thought I needed a size medium, but they were out. After looking at the sizing chart and measuring, I concluded that a Small would work just fine. Beware, the CUFF doesn't give much (any), I couldn't even slip it over my hand, so I wasn't able to use them. BUT, if they had just fitted properly, I'm certain that I would have loved them! (I WOULD have used them probably twice a month, bc I would have left them in my pack year round.)
Great uptrack gloves for ski touring
Fit is a bit large - generally I need to size up, on these I do not (reinterpreted if you normally fit on size for most brands, size down) - BD size chart may not be accurate for these softshell series gloves. I have the midweight, my gf has the heavyweight, great glove for the up track. Leather palm, insulation, softshell fabric for back of hand - perfect! Leather for durability, softshell for breathability. Also good gloves for general around town winter use clearing off the car and driving on cold start ups haha.
Touring and Regular Life Gloves
Gloves are extremely comfortable, nearly windproof and a great insulation level for touring ascents. Have not tested in extreme conditions but in freezing temps with constant movement these are perfect. Don't overheat, yet keeps the digits from feeling cold. While at camp these hold warmth well until it gets proper cold and you'd want to bulk up. Great for everyday use as well for driving to/from the ski hill etc. Gripping cold items in the morning do not transfer through the glove, get these immediately!

Outstanding softshell glove
Sized to fit over liners, these are an excellent midweight option for a mountaineering, scrambling, or ice climbing setup. They’re quite weather-resistant (not waterproof, that’s not the point), warm when wet, super dexterous, and the touchscreen functionality works well. They’re super light as well. Only knock against them are lack of a loop to clip them on a harness (like OR has). With a pair of liners and some mittens you can tackle anything in North America.

Excellent all-around active glove
This should be the go-to all-arounder. From moderate ice climbing to cross-country skiing. Good to go here. Excellent warmth and dexterity. Not bulky like all-leather gloves. Solid price to be used as a quality ice glove. I usually use hardware store gloves but these are better/warmer due to the wind resistance of the softshell fabric. They have a better fit an better dexterity than hardware store gloves.
Great gloves BUT. . . . .
I bought a pair of these a couple years ago and LOVED them. Perfect weight and fit. I lost one on a hike and searched everywhere for a replacement pair. I was so happy when I saw these online, until they arrived. I was surprised to see that "shrinkflation" is alive and well. The gloves were thinner, not as warm and the leather on the palms is a much lower quality. Still ok gloves but not like they use to be.
Almost great
Two key flaws: The hem on the wrist doesn't stretch, so they're difficult to get on, and after they are, it doesn't snug around your wrist to keep snow out. Also, the incut between the thumb and index finger could/should be deeper. Also, not sure on the durability of the softshell material. Otherwise, the insulation level is pretty good and it breaths well.
too warm, too thin of material.
I was trying to replace my old BD "soft shell" gloves. this is not its replacement. the fabric is not durable and thus not suited for skiing, skinning or climbing. I would rank these as 'walking the dog' and 'urban' use gloves. not the tool I was seeking. they are soft and warm. wish BD would bring back the 2015 'soft shell' glove.
