Smartwool  Active Lined 5" Shorts - Men's

Short length, fit and feel are exactly what I was looking for. Great true to size fit. Merino liner is soft and comfortable. I was actually expecting a boxer brief style liner since the pictures don't show it. I was a little hesitant when I received it and realized it is a brief style liner but once I tried it on and ran my first few miles in them, I quickly was impressed. Overall, very happy with these shorts.

I preferred last years version to be honest. There are these odd side loop things that have no purpose I can discern - you can't adjust them for fit and they look weird. I also don't like the zipper on the back - I would prefer a version without a zip pocket. All that being said, still hard to find wool shorts at 5"" with this quality. So I'm appreciative of the product.

Material is great, lightweight, comfortable, looks good! My one complaint is a lack of pockets. And it's a big enough complaint I don't think I'll buy more until they make a comparable short that has them. For inspiration, they can look to the shorts by Ten Thousand.

I took these out for a 23 mile run. They left my penis bleeding from the chaffing. Would not recommend. The wool seems like a good idea, but once it's wet with sweat, it's sandpaper. My hope had been that a non-synthetic liner would decrease chafing, but it did not.

My son originally bought these for an event called ""Lamb Lead"" to help promote the sheep and wool industry. He said they are very comfortable and he is looking forward to wearing them during the school year as well.

I purchased these to get away from the synthetic material around one's goods. Overall I do like them as there are not many choices out there but they are a little snug in that area. A large for me would be too big.

Great fit and feel! Rear pocket sucks, sits below tailbone and useless for anything but a gel. Redo the pocket, add a side pocket and will be great! Use these for runs where I bring a belt or hyrdo pack

I use these shorts for working out at the gym. I like the shortness and wouldn't have bought them if they didn't have a liner. They are well made, same as other Smartwool products.

Only one small pocket an at least one larger one is needed

Fantastic running shorts, I just wish they had the boxer-brief liner of the 7"" instead of the briefs one. The boxer-brief one is way, way more comfortable.
