Solid Dependable Boot

After logging over 800 miles, including the Colorado Trail, the Asolo Tahoe delivered every step of the way. Lightweight, easy to break in, and the laces didn't fray or break. While I did notice cracking in the polyester near the toe box, the Gore-Tex liner held up exceptionally well, keeping my feet dry during creek crossings. I paired them with Oboz Trail insoles for added support, which made a noticeable difference on long days. Overall, a solid, dependable hiking boot.

soles damaged after 16 miles

I loved these boots for 2 hikes…. They are light weight but had what I thought was a sturdy sole. I thought they were the perfect combination of lightweight hiker with heavier duty backpacking boot. But I did a 5 mile warmup hike and one 11 mile overnighter in NH’s White Mountains and there was noticeable damage to the soles on each boot. One small piece ripped off on each one. If I had them for a long time it wouldn’t bother me but 2 hikes…. I’m returning them. Not sure why I can’t put the photo in this review…

Minor nits to pick

A decent lightweight boot. It is a bit higher than other mid boots I've worn. I would appreciate a bit more width for my wider foot but it is not narrow. The provided insole is minimal. Considering the weight of the boot the cushioning is good. The lacing is pretty good allowing for a relatively tight fit in the ankle area. In an unusual circumstance I wore these while hiking through a river without socks. The center seam at the heel caused a large blister (and breaking it!) on my heel. This is certainly not a recommended use but should be of no problem when wearing socks.

100% sold on ASOLO Boots

I am absolutely positively 100% sold on ASOLO boots. I have tried other brands (even recently) but never happy with them. I own 6 pair of ASOLO's which I switch out and rotate everyday. REI Co-op gave me the opportunity to try something similar, but it was a no-go (close but no banana). I purchased two pair in the last two months. Thanks ASOLO. Thanks REI
