Bad hydration pack compatibility

I have many osprey products from previous generations and still love them. But the recent upgrade of day pack system was incredibly frustrating. For context I got a new pack, new osprey hydration bladder and bite valve cover. 1. The clip For hydration pack is flimsy and not compatible with non-osprey bladders for 0-utility from change 2. They changed the hydration pack tube size so none of the previous accessories like magnets an bite valve covers are compatible and had to buy new ones for 7$ for each minor component. 3. After buying everything new (all within osprey ecosystem) the bite valve covers barely fits through the hole to pull the hose - this is like insanely frustrating!

Excellent bag

What a refreshing thing it is to find a decent backpack that is not only designed to fit plus size women, but is also comfortable and practical. The adjustments made to the fit of this bag are specifically designed with the way weight is held on women’s bodies, and make wearing it more comfortable than any other backpack I’ve ever tried. For context, I use a backpack every day for work, and I have struggled with numbness in my arms and comfort issues consistently in every other bag I’ve tried. I’m also disabled, and need proper weight distribution due to using a mobility aid, and this has been such an easy bag to set up and use so far.

After 8 years, I just

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 8 years, I just replaced my very well loved Talon (thank you Osprey guaranty) with the Tempest. Great fit and air circulation, great color with all the features I've grown to love (accessible hip pockets, hiking pole straps and water bladder hook) and the women's version fits me better (5'3). I've used it primarily for day hikes (5-10 miles) and comfortably holds all the essentials. The only things I miss is the outside bungee cord which made my rain jacket more accessible. Highly recommend this pack

The color is perfection! I

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The color is perfection! I don't like the new location for the bladder tube as much as previous models but it's still functional.

Over engineered for a 22L pack

i wanted to love this backpack...but i didn't. It is well made but, for a 22L pack, it is far too heavy and over-engineered. i would have loved it if it had a more flexible back and it was lighter...also not keen on zipped pouches on waist belt, though i know that's pretty standard these days. I ordered the red and it wasn't as nice as it looked in pictures. So, alas, am returning it and sticking with my old osprey. i have other osprey luggage/packs but their day packs just don't work for me personally.

Worth the price

I spent ages researching what bag to get after I found my old one was giving me back pain on longer walks as it was too long for me. The price of this one made me hesitant but I’m so glad I finally bought it. Fits my back perfectly and the length is adjustable so you can fine tune it if needed. The opening for my hydration tube thing is also in a much better position. I forget I have it on sometimes! No more back pain, and some ankle pain I thought was unrelated has also disappeared. If you’re struggling with your posture and you need a bag that sits on you just right, this is the one to go for. Side storage for poles is also super handy, and the bag still fits all of my gear despite previously using a 30L. A built in rain cover would’ve been nice but it’s been so ideal otherwise that I’m willing to overlook that.

Perfect!

I bought this specifically for my daughter to haul up the day’s supplies while skiing Mt. Hood - she said it stayed put really well even when wearing it to ski back down the hill. She loves the pockets in the waist straps for easy access to sunscreen, etc. It’s the perfect size to carry water, lunch/snacks and an extra layer or two. Straps on the outside are helpful as well - she could easily hang her helmet.

Commodius

It’s great having all the carrying capacity in mostly one area - easier to fit bulky spare clothes and less likely to ‘lose’ things. The waist pockets could be a little further forward and the ver square frame at the shoulders feels odd after my previous pack (but carries a laptop better). The positioning of the sternum belt and the shoulder straps for a woman is the best I’ve experienced!

Best pack ever

Really happy with the pack, so comfortable. Have been on a couple of days hikes and I fit everything I need in the tempest. I also got this with the 3l water bladder and it fits perfectly. Impressed with the fit on my back and how it can be adjusted. No issues with my back overheating in the sun due to frame in the back and breathable material. A great all rounder for a day hike.

Perfect Fit

The rucksack is comfortable to carry with the adjustable straps and hip band helping to balance the load. There is plenty of room in the bag for a day hike and the side pockets are ideal for drinks. The pole attachment works well and the trekking poles when in position don’t get in the way. The front pocket is big enough to carry maps, gloves, a light jacket etc. In addition there is a smaller zipped pocket. The internal space is uncluttered but has a couple of useful pockets. The women’s fit allows the bag to sit comfortably. The hip strap and chest strap are adjustable and long enough for the fuller figure. The zipped hip pockets are accessible meaning you don’t have to remove the rucksack to access items such as sunblock, wallet etc. Internally there is space for a hydraulics pouch. I thought long and hard before buying this rucksack without having tried it out but am very pleased with its quality, comfort and features.
