Cute, soft, squishy in the toes and heel and light and thin everywhere else. Unfortunately, when I removed them from their packaging to try them on, I found a big hole in the calf! Its the size of a quarter, right along the margin of the black mountain silhouette. It looks like the ends for the color change pulled through. This sometimes happens with colorwork knits, but for performance socks at such a high price point I expected higher quality. I didn't even get one wear out of them! I may try one more pair because I like the color and the softness so much -- but I will look at them very closely.
These socks are comfortable and good for skiing. I did not realize what I was missing until I tried these socks. They have a size chart and the sizing is accurate. I have smaller ankles and muscular calves and the socks fit well all over. Plenty of stretch.
Fit is on the mark, exceptionally comfortable over the calf(mine right now are too big!), and good moisture minimizing. I wore them all day/night yesterday, in Los Angeles, while doing exterior home repairs, no skiing, yet! They are the best over the calf wool socks ever! Can't wait for the winter to wear them skiing, out of state, where the weather is super wet and cold.
