Smartwool  Hike Targeted Cushion Crew Socks - Men's

These socks are my go to everyday sock because it just plain works in 98% of environments. Whether I am wearing them in all leather moc-toe style boots in 80 degree temps or with running/active shoes in the upper 40's, they keep my feet dry from sweat, and are never too hot or cold. The cushion in these socks (strategic cushion option) is placed just right so the overall fit of the sock inside the shoe is not overly bulky. Again, it's a daily driver that satisfies 98% of my needs. Will be adding more of the same. Lastly, Smartwool stands behind their product - I had a toe seam blowout on a year old pair and the return process was fast and easy (just upload digital pics from home). I also have a pair of Darn Tough socks and Smartwools just fit better.

I've been using wool socks almost exclusively for over a decade now. I've experimented with a lot of different brands and even some yak and camel wool socks. For my money, Smartwool seems to be the winner and these targeted cushion crew socks specifically are the best I've ever used in hotter weather. I like the lifetime warranty of a couple of other brands, but they are more restricting in the toes and my feet feel more damp in them. These just feel soft and non restrictive. I use barefoot style shoes for about everything and the natural foot shape allowing the toes to splay is great, but only if your socks allow your toes to do it too. These allow for that and are much easier to put on than toe socks. They also seem reasonably durable. I'll be buying more!

You can never have too many pairs of Smartwool socks. They are sooo comfy on my tired old feet that I wear them all day, every day. They are also long lasting and odor free. No other brand compares. Thanks!

Fantastic hiking socks! Got them to go hiking all throughout Banff Canada and they’ve been incredible. They are less thick than I thought without compromising fit, comfort and support which I really appreciate. They are a little slippery if you’re walking on hardwood floors though. I already find myself drifting to these socks over the rest of my socks even if I’m just lounging around the house, working or camping. I’d recommend and I plan on buying them again in the future.

I still have several pairs of Smartwool hiking socks; they've always been my favorite along with Thorlo. For long hikes I always wear a liner plus my soft, fluffy, Smartwools. Never a blister. When I received my order I thought I had accidentally ordered something other than 'Hiking' but the packaging confirmed that they really are supposed to be hiking socks. They almost reminded me of old-fashioned men's dress socks: thin, stretchy nylon. Although the fabric content says they're predominantly wool, they don't feel like it. They feel slightly thicker in the heel and toe, but nowhere near the cushioning of my older ones. I can't imagine squeezing a liner under them either. I'm not returning them since they have been worn. I'll recheck the website to see if there's anything else that resembles my old favorites.

The socks are decent don’t get me wrong but I expected them to have more cushion. I used these while hiking Everest Base Camp and only used them on the trail one day because of that.

Upon receipt, the socks looked small in size. I looked at the packaging to verify I received the correct size, which I did. After I put the socks on. They fit correctly. While wearing the socks, my shoes soaked through enough to get the socks wet. Outside air temperature was in the 40s F. My feet were not cold even though the socks were wet.

I've always used Smartwools extra cushioned socks for work and hiking. I gave these lightweight socks a try for hiking during warmer weather and love them! They still wick moisture away from my foot just like the heavy ones but it's awesome having a cooler option. There will be more of these in my future!!!

I am a lifelong Smartwool customer, and these socks help meet my high expectations. They have been put to great use right out of the box and will continue to be used hard for the foreseeable future. The cushion ratio is perfect for warm-cool days and helps keep your feet comfortable.

I have used Costco wool socks for a long time, but have found that in the last few years that the blend of wool has decreased. As a result they don't last as long and they aren't as comfortable. Smartwool is a lot more expensive, but I expect them to last a few years.
