Hi Drew. Thanks for sharing your experience with the Kragg Shoe. We noticed you've already submitted a Product Service Request—thanks for doing that. We're sorry to hear this second pair is showing similar issues, and we understand how frustrating that must be, especially given the short wear time. We hope our team can help find a suitable resolution for you.

Comfortable and attractive daily shoe.

I was unsure of these but I love them. They are replacing my birkenstocks as daily office/home/wear around shoes. The casual feel and comfort of them feels pretty matched, but the function far exceeds what else I have. The vibram sole and smear toe really works. I could climb 5.9 in these if I really needed to. Been loving them for exactly the intended use, too. The flip down heel makes them so great for jumping in & out of climbing shoes in the gym or at the crag. Last, despite the low profile look, I am turning more heads in these than anything I own. 60% of my coworkers asked me about these on the day I got them. The compliments are flowing, if you're into that.

DONT WEAR THEM EVERYDAY … they need to fix this

Most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned… but at a cost. They were so comfortable that i basically wore them straight for a WEEK and the points where the foot bends while walking , the layer of “film” or “plastic” that meets it started to tear on like day 4 … and it hasn’t stopped ever since. This is the case in both feet and on both sides of the bends.

Comfortable but not durable

Very comfortable shoes but didn’t last a year through normal wear and tear. I occasionally wore these for walking my dog around the neighborhood and now they’ve torn along the crease where the toe protection meets the fabric.

Comfortable and functional. Great for casual workwear, leisure, and a Saturday outside. Feels like you’re walking on marshmallows without sacrificing traction/grip.

Solid Approach Shoe with Arc'teryx Quality

The Arc'teryx Kragg Shoes are a great blend of performance and style, especially for approach hikes and scrambling on mixed terrain. I picked them up from REI before a climbing trip in Joshua Tree, and they held up impressively well — sticky outsole, solid edge control, and just enough cushioning to stay comfortable over long approaches. The minimalist design looks sleek, and the reinforced toe and heel gave me confidence when edging or hopping across boulders. I especially appreciated the breathable upper — it kept my feet cool even during hot desert days, and they dried fast after morning dew. That said, I’m giving them four stars instead of five for one reason: the break-in period. Out of the box, the fit felt a bit stiff around the ankle, and I got minor rubbing on the first two outings. After a few wears, they softened up and molded better to my foot — but just know they’re not “instant comfort” shoes like some others in the same category. Still, Arc'teryx delivers the quality I’ve come to expect. The construction is top-notch, and the shoe feels like it will last through many seasons of wear. The brand’s design philosophy — precision and purpose — shines through. As always, REI made the experience smooth. I tried these in-store, appreciated the sizing advice from their knowledgeable staff, and love having the peace of mind from their generous return policy. It’s one of the reasons I keep coming back to REI — it feels like shopping with a partner who understands outdoor needs. Overall, the Kragg Shoes are a reliable choice for anyone who needs a technical approach shoe that doesn’t scream “climbing gym” when you’re back in town. With a bit of patience during break-in, they’re more than worth it.

Fits like a glove for better or worse.

Shoes are very comfortable. They fit like a sock, but have a durable sole. The blending of the two seems to work well. The sizing is a bit odd to me. I have 7 pairs of Arc'teryx shoes all in 10.5 to include both running shoes and their hightop hikers. For this shoe the description is a roomy fit with room in the toe box. For me this shoe in my normal size fit more like a traditional approach shoe where my toes were touching the inside of the toe box. It wasn't uncomfortable, but did fit more like a glove than a roomy shoe. The 11 I found gave me more room in the toe box, but it felt too loose around the heel and mid foot.

sizing standard and color good

Good all around casual shoes. Got the color TATSU/ANECDOTE in 10.5 US Mens. Others reported them running small but I find the fit to be good/standard. At just above 6 ft, weighing about 180 and having a very average/standard 10.5 size foot, I find these fit fine with or without regular socks. In this color, the sole part had a bit more of a greenish tinge than in the picture, but not too much. I like them and got them on a pretty good sale. In terms of function, these are pretty light-duty but have a nice reinforced toe box. The entire sole is flatter and un-rounded than most soles which I suspect is for better climb traction. I'm not a climber and don't use these for hiking but would recommend them and glad I got them.

Perfect fit

Wow! I was a little skeptical as I need a wider toe box - this shoe did not disappoint. Right out of the box, like walking on clouds. I am buying a second pair in a different color. Totally hooked on this shoe.
