My second pair! My house is very cold so I purchased a second pair for my ‘house shoes’ because they are so warm and comfortable . They are incredibly easy to put on and take off. Outside.. they are a miracle ! Waterproof (put your snow pants on over them and you basically have the most comfortable boots you have ever worn). Great traction (I walked down a rocky icy shorefront to get my dog out of the water). Warm of course (These are the only shoes I have where my toes are never cold). They run SUPER small. I wear a size 11 women’s. Because they don’t make women’s sizes any bigger I had to purchase a size 10 men’s (usually I am a size 9.5 men’s). So order larger!
I normally wear a 9.5 or 10 in Hoka. Currently i have a transport 2 in 9.5. I read reviews to size up bc these ran small, which i guess meant length. The size 10, navy blue i got is too long and too wide for my low volume (flat like pancakes not volume like sausages)low arches. I even added my Orthotics over the insoles to take up some vertical space. These were clise to an inch plus too long for me, i wish i got the 9.5 instead of the bigger suze. These kaha 2 frost slip in booties are too wide, too much fabric and the stretchy pull cord didn't help to get a snug fit either. These don't work for my narrower midfoot, and size is probably true to size. If you have high arches, high volume feet these would probably work for you. These felt sturdy, and the cushion was firm but not hard, i can see these working well in winter cold weather. I don't think ill order a smaller size. I read some folk were low key hiking in these. But i think even a smaller size would be too wide. Btw i let the missus' try it in bc 1 review said they were a women's sz11. These were even larger on her. So its a no fir both of us. Return to REI.
Bought these for warmth as wearing hoka running shoes made my feet cold. I have been searching for a hybrid shoe that is somewhere between a sneaker and a boot. These run tight so I returned and went up a half size that worked. Though expensive they are great at keeping feet warm . One drawback a better lacing rather than a pull system.
They are comfortable but are not very warm as they are supposedly rated to -32. I didn’t care for the blue color and wish I had gotten the olive color. I have only had them a couple of days so I won’t know about the durability until I have had them for more time. For the money, even though I got them on sale, I think they are a little overpriced considering the disappointing warmth of them. If you truly need warmth, there are probably better options, especially at the price point.
