Took these hiking in the blue ridge mountains and up one of the steepest routes in the adirondacks. Wore them with micro spikes/snowshoes/and on there own. I agonized over buying these because of no reviews about actually hiking in them. So here is one for someone else in my shoes. These are amazing. I love them. I am a true size 6 and I got a size 7 because the review said they ran small. This was incorrect, I should have gotten a size 6 or 6.5. I hiked 10 miles on old rag mtn in VA no snow and because they are too big its almost impossible to tighten around my ankles well enough. Socks or not. They also really hurt the back my ankle but that seems to get better with time. They are warm and fully waterproof. Wearing gaiters helps hold then on my feet better since they are a little too big. But mostly I loved them because I hiked 15 miles through av pass and snowshoed up colden in these and my feet were comfy, wet, and dry. Love these, buying s new pair thats a smaller size
Run at least half size small. I am going to try a larger size but I doubt it. The plastic lace dial on top seems to dig into my foot. First Hokas which I have had trouble with. I like the look but wish the women’s came in a darker color, too.
I typically wear an 8.0-8.5 in sandals and casual shoes and a 9.0 in athletic shoes or hiking footwear. I ordered these in a 9.0 and they are waaaaay too small. The width is fine, but the length is impossible. I was able to try these in a 9.5 and even those were too short. Not sure what happened here Hoka but what a miss. Too bad as they are otherwise comfortable and seem warm. If you can find a size that fits, be aware that these are definitely not attractive by any stretch of imagination.
