My go-to winter activity boot!
These are my favorite winter hiking boots I’ve ever owned. Comfortable as can be, and super warm. They fit well with snowshoes when it’s really deep and pants can clip to the laces. No snow gets in. Good grip on everything but hard ice. The only issue I had was when I didn’t wear socks and they dug in a bit above the ankle. 2 seasons of use and they still look great!

Sizing-I am a 9/43 in pretty much everything (never 81/2 and very rarely a10- very occasionally 9.5/431/3) So went with 9.5 too big and so hard to gauge just wearing around house-in the end sent them back for a 9. Perfect fit a treat. Wear-my first walk one boot gave a little rub on top of boot at rear. Decided to wear to work and back for a few days (only 1km). Weekend went for a fast 5mile walk - no issues. Perfect. So need to break in over a few walks. On concrete/tarmac comfortable under foot. Glad I purchased and would buy again unless they produce any unnecessary faults. Not yet tested in rain or snow but currently nice and warm. PS Delivery/returns not spectacular so do not leave until last minute to test/try.
Excellent boots!
I’ve had the Sorel Buxton boots for about two months, and I’m extremely pleased with them. They’re very well made, traction is awesome and the footbed is the most comfortable of all the winter boots I’ve had. Here’re my first impressions for anyone thinking of buying these. 1) I followed the sizing advice and ordered a half size smaller than my usual and I kicked myself when I first tried them on because they were tight. So tight that I almost exchanged them for my regular size. However, I decided to trust the advice and kept wearing them, and within an hour they fit perfectly. These are very well insulated, so it took a little time for them to form to my feet. They’re comfortably snug with medium weight winter socks and spot-on with lightweight socks. If you typically wear heavyweight socks, you’ll probably want to order your regular size but see my note below about how warm these are - they’re probably not necessary. Bottom line: The advice to size down is accurate so don’t panic when you first put them on. 2) These are stiff OOTB. Very stiff, like ski boot stiff. The Sorel website says these boots are “the style of a sneaker”, and they look like hiking boots, but these are neither so set your expectations accordingly. I bought these thinking they’d be good for running errands but, for me, these aren’t that kind of boot. They’ve softened a bit after a couple months, but I suspect they’ll always feel like ski boots, albeit more like a legacy pair of Lange’s over time. Having said that, these are the boots for you if you need significant ankle support. 3) They’re substantially insulated and warm. My feet run cold, but I’ve worn these at 0F with lightweight winter socks without a problem, and I suspect these are overkill for temps above 25F. If you don’t already have a boot dryer, you may want to buy one because the interior of mine gets damp from sweat after wearing them for an hour or two. I also have Caribous and these might be warmer, at least while they’re new, and the footbed is much more comfortable.
Great Fit Great Style
I have had other styles of Sorel boots over the years. I particularly like these as they are fairly light weight and easy to put on. Also great tread and traction. I wear size 12 and found the sizing to be right on with plenty of room if I want to wear heavier socks
Warm and comfortable!
Warm and comfortable boots. It's been brutally cold here in Wisconsin lately, and these have been more than up to the task. I haven't taken them on any long excursions yet, but I fully intend to use these on an upcoming winter camping trip.
So comfortable!
So comfortable! These are the best snow boots. I wear 8.5 women’s and have a wide toe box, so I tried these and they fit like a glove. Very comfy and kept m feet warm and dry.
Excellent boots.
Excellent boots. Waterproof and warm. Perfect for what I bought them for. Thanks for a great product. Very comfortable.
Second pair
First pair lasted 20 yrs but dry rotted. This pair was made in Vietnam instead of Canada. They seem well-made.
Got the boots I need for a Chicago winter
I found the boots I will need to get through the slush and snow of downtown Chicago this winter.
